After reading this book to my infant son three dozen times over a period of as many days, I set him loose in the garage and requested that he change the oil in my car. After an entire hour, he had not so much as popped the hood. I persevered in trying to get him to complete the requested oil changing task by starting the procedure for him. I opened the hood, held him up and showed him where the oil should go, and set him back down, handing him two bottles of replacement oil. Nothing. He just sat there cooing and smiling with no apparent intention of changing my oil.

Then he put his mouth on the cap of one of the oil bottles! Disgusting! You would think that a basic manual of car maintenance would at least effectively impart the idea that fluids for automobiles are not edible.

A month of study using this textbook and my baby is not only a totally unmotivated and wholly ignorant mechanic, but his approach to working in the garage is plainly unsafe.

This book does not work.

Not a lot of words, but infants need visuals to learn car maintenance. :) This book makes me laugh, my kids like it, and my husband thinks it's just moderately funny. Simple, short board book with a different theme.

Baby Fix My Car (Baby Be of Use)It is a little smaller than most board books, but nice and bright. I am sure it will be used to read to baby, and includes pictures of the necessary implements for each process. I am sure baby will be happy pointing to the car, and the wheel, and the hose, and so forth - nice every day items. I showed it to the older kids, and they really thought it was funny, but laughed at different things than the adults will, so this one should be a success for the whole family.

This book is perfect for parents with a sense of humor! Am I really going to send my babies out to change the oil in my car? No...but so I wish sometimes that they could? Absolutely.

The title indicates what the one joke in the book is, but the execution is stylish and imaginative (I love Baby's credit card), and it has a great punchline. I bought it for my infant niece and she put it in her mouth immediately, which I think means she likes it. So both adults and children will enjoy this one.

We're expecting a boy, and this is the first realistic car-related book we've found - and still very funny. My husband loves it. Now if the author would just come out with "Baby, do the laundry", "Baby, clean the house", "Baby, take care of the dog", and other chore-related books, we'd be off to a great start!

I love giving books from this series as part of my baby shower gifts to close friends. I throw in some Eric Carle and Pat the Bunny and whatnot, and then whammy, something to make the new parents laugh (and arguably a book they won't mind reading the little one over and over again!). Great series.

Drawn up to mimic itself as a baby book but the humor is all adult. This whole series is super creative, adorable, and will be the hit of the shower! All my friends could not get enough of these books and all requested where I purchased them so they could do so as well! Make sure you give them to a mother with a sense of humor though!

This entire series of books make great baby shower gifts. Witty, wonderfully illustrated, and sure to get passed around for the entire party to enjoy.

For what it is this book is pretty cute. My husband always takes care of our cars so I got this book to help him teach our son. Its straight forward and to the point so hopefully our newborn can understand ;-)
