The black paint discolored and chipped anyway after only 3 weeks of use.

Company website from the original packaging does not exist (Either this company is dead, or there is something fishy here).

Plus the cute lady bug on the stainless steel lid wore off of most of the jars after repeated washing.

I handwashed the jars and lids to make it last longer per the instructions. The black paint discolored and chipped anyway after only 3 weeks of use. The ladybug completely came off. Now the lids barely fit the jars. I cant even twist them on most of the jars. The quality is just not there. These were very expensive for what you get. The money went into the box they came in not the jars. I dont know why you need so much packaging.

Update, feb 2013.
i really want to like these jars. i continue to use them because they fit perfectly into my dr. browns bottle warmer, so its easy to heat up the food. I really don't like the lids though. i struggle to get them to close properly and there is almost no more paint left on them. i wish they had just left the lids stainless steel without the paint so i wouldn't worry about it getting in the food.

I got these glass containers to store homemade baby food because my reasoning was that you never know what can leach out of plastics even if it says it's BPA free, phthalate free etc. Glass is relatively safe in that respect as long as it doesn't contain lead. Since these jars were marketed to be for baby food and to be microwave and freezer safe, I decided to get them even though they were a bit on the pricey side. Plus they looked cuter than the Wean Green Wean Cubes 4oz/120ml Baby Food Glass Containers - Multi Color (Set of 4) which had the plastic snap covers, another option that was considered.
Unfortunately after 3 months of use, it's discovered that they are NOT freezer safe (at least the ones I got anyway). I stored chicken and rice in two of these containers, and I guess they somehow expanded in a way that cracked the glass bottom right off. You can see this illustrated from the photos posted. It might be a defect in the jars that we got, but when it comes to baby, I don't think one can afford defects like that. Plus the cute lady bug on the stainless steel lid wore off of most of the jars after repeated washing.
So after this experience and reweighing the risks and benefits, we've gone back to using plastic containers OXO Tot Baby Blocks Freezer Storage Containers 4-Ounce, Set 4, Clear

I returned two sets already as after the initial dishwasher cleaning most of the colors from the lids fell off. It states on the box that it is dishwasher safe, so I am not sure how is this possible.

Pros:
- BPA FREE (so they say)
- Pretty good size glass jars
- Style

Cons:
- Lid color goes off easily, not matter how you try to save those little bugs they are gonna disappear anyways.
- Once you unscrew the lids you have to keep lining it up to screw it back. I read reviews that some people after while could not screw these at all.
- Company website from the original packaging does not exist (Either this company is dead, or there is something fishy here). I tried to find the contact from the web site to ask them to just send me extra lids (since these were not dishwasher safe), so that I don't have to return the overall item, but since there was no company website, I just returned the piece.

Advice for those who want to buy this: They are cute, but not worth this money.
