From School Library Journal
PreSchool-The good news about these paperbacks is that they are winsomely illustrated and have clear instructions. The not-so-good news is that no music is included. The melodies to some, such as "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," "Hush-a-bye Baby," "The Farmer in the Dell," and "Lou, Lou, Skip to my Lou," are well known, but others are not. Dancing and Singing Games includes 25 selections, among them old favorites such as "London Bridge Is Falling Down" (minus many of its verses), "The Hokey Pokey," as well as the less-familiar "Moonshine Tonight" and "In and Out the Dusty Bluebells." Lively, cartoonlike ink-and-watercolors illustrate the movements and themes. In Baby Games, the 24 games include a nice selection of bouncing, finger-and-toe counting, rocking, and tickling activities. The 19 lullabies include some nursery rhymes and poems as well as songs. Each volume has a table of contents and a first-line index. Both titles would be useful to teachers and parents, as well as to libraries that do not already own books such as Marc Brown's Hand Rhymes (Dutton, 1985).
