This book was a very good read. At first I was a little skeptical because I did not think I would like this type of book (it was a gift) but once I started reading it I could not put it down. 3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, I Guess
Babygirl was a wierd book. I wasn't too fond of Jihad's first book, 'Street Life.' I did scan through the book. It had a lot of different characters in it, but as you read on, they all tie end at the end of the book. I know for a fact I wont read this twice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected Surprise, October 8, 2005
This review is from: Baby Girl (Paperback)
This book was a very good read. At first I was a little skeptical because I did not think I would like this type of book (it was a gift) but once I started reading it I could not put it down. There is so much more to this book than I thought. The charcters are so awesome! Babygirl with her will to make it in the mean streets of the ATL when the odds were stacked against her, Shabazz who was hysterical and kept me laughing, to her Uncle Ben who taught her not to let the streets rule her destiny but to rule the streets and create her own destiny. He also taught her how to be loyal when it came to helping others. Babygirl was an unexpected surprise and I strongly urge you to read it.

It will pull you in and not let go until the last page is read and even then you would like to read a little bit more. This book is definitly a must read!

This review is from: Baby Girl (Paperback)
Babygirl was off the hook. Babygirl was trying to survive by any means neccessary. This book was so good! It was raw and entertaining. I loved the way Babygirl took control of her life and the streets. She was a survivor. The book was fast paced and kept me glued to the pages. I really, really recommend this book. It is a great read!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Read!!!, October 18, 2005
This review is from: Baby Girl (Paperback)
Oh my where do I start Babygirl was AWESOME!!!!! It was soooo good! I was shocked I honestly did not think I would like it. My cousin recommended it. It really hooked me in chapter 2. I could not get enough of it. The characters are great, I laughed (Uncle Shabazz) and I cried I cheered and well lets just say you should read it for yourself. I definitely think you should read this book but like the earlier reviewer I would reccomend for mature audiences.

This review is from: Baby Girl (Paperback)
Babygirl is soooooo good. I couldn't stop laughing at Shabazz and his scams. Oh and Madness and Snow, the strip club scenes were magnificent. But Rhythm oh my God, I had to go back and read the beginning again. I couldn't believe Rhythm. I can't wait until the next book comes out. The worst part of this book was it ended. I am telling all my girls about Baby girl. BABYGIRL IS A MUST READ

5.0 out of 5 stars Drama, November 2, 2005
By
This review is from: Baby Girl (Paperback)
This book was almost too good for wiords. I stayed up half the night reaading it. There was plenty of action, lots of drama and many heartbreaking issues. Although the entire book was great the part that pulled at my heart strings the most was the story Shabazz told about his childhood. When his father murdered his mother and tried to kill him it was so heartbreaking. I won't give away the details but the way it was written was great. It really shocked me and it also broke my heart. Babygirl is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. I strongly suggest that you read it for yourselves you will not be disappointed.
