Good music, but boring visuals., November 8, 2005
This review is from: Baby Good Sports - Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (DVD)
This video is okay, but it's not what I was looking for. The music is really nice and relaxing, but the same still images stay on the screen too long and my 10 month old and I both get bored. The images themselves are pleasant...still pictures of babies sleeping and moving pictures of outdoor night scenes and daytime clouds and spiraling colors and some animation of the little good sports characters overlaid onto the real outdoor images. And if you are trying to provide a sleepytime video for your child, you would think that these boring images would be okay, but I'd rather close my eyes and go to sleep and my baby would rather get up and play. Ha ha.
What do I recommend instead? I also have the Praise Baby Collection - God of wonders DVD. My baby really likes it. He'll watch the whole 30 minute video and it relaxes him. It's not the best either (I think I could put together a better video if given the right resources), but at least my baby likes it, and I don't mind watching it over and over with him.
I'm open to trying the other Baby Good Sports videos sometime. Maybe this one isn't their best. It was a good try.

Bought this for my Granddaughter and it really does work. The baby good sports videos are entertaining, educational and fun. This one helps calm them down and by the end of the video they are almost always sleeping.

A gentle, sweet way for children to fall asleep, October 12, 2010
This review is from: Baby Good Sports - Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (DVD)
My daughters, ate 3 and 5, are watching this for the umpteenth time right now. They both watched it when they were toddlers and I was trying to get them to sleep, and it is still soothing and peaceful. The pictures are lovely, the songs are gentle, and it's the perfect length (they are almost always asleep by the time it's over).
My only complaint, which is very minor, is that all the Baby Good Sports movies end with a peppy piano tune. That's fine for the other two, but for this one, if the children aren't quite asleep, that song will usually wake them back up again.
