4.0 out of 5 stars Cute cloth book with BRIGHT pictures, but a little short
This cloth book seems to be modeled after the Roger Priddy series (Fuzzy Bee and Friends, Squishy Turtle and Friends, Bix Rex and Friends, Snowy Bear and Friends, Fluffy Chick and Friends, etc). The front cover is stuffed with a crinkly fabric like those books are. Each page has very brightly colored animals with two lines of text. In this book, the lines from one page...

2.0 out of 5 stars Washing in the washer dull colors and messes up pages
The pages got all scrunched up, the colors are dull and the book is no longer entertaining to my daughter. I even used a front loading washer and a lingerie bag... and kept it in the 'closed' position... the inside pages are better but they've lost their color too. Too bad it looked cute.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute cloth book with BRIGHT pictures, but a little short, October 26, 2007
This review is from: Baby Gund Jungle Fun (Bath Book)
This cloth book seems to be modeled after the Roger Priddy series (Fuzzy Bee and Friends, Squishy Turtle and Friends, Bix Rex and Friends, Snowy Bear and Friends, Fluffy Chick and Friends, etc). The front cover is stuffed with a crinkly fabric like those books are. Each page has very brightly colored animals with two lines of text. In this book, the lines from one page rhyme with the lines from the facing page. The drawings are cute and the bright colors and simple lines are eye-catching for my 3 month old. However, she doesn't seem to like this book and she LOVES the Priddy books. I'm sure it's just a personal preference thing, I think a lot of babies would be interested in these bright pictures and enjoy the rhyming sound of the text.
This book is shorter than most of the Priddy books referenced above- there are six animals inside plus the elephant on the cover (a giraffe, lion cub, hippo, monkey, crocodile, tiger) whereas all but one of the Priddy books (Fluffy Chick) have eight animals plus the cover animal. If you spend much time making animal noises, you lose the sound of the rhyme since the text on one page rhymes with the next page, instead of rhyming with the second line of the same page. For those reasons, I prefer the Priddy books, but this is still a great cloth baby book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soft book, July 9, 2008
This review is from: Baby Gund Jungle Fun (Bath Book)
I like this book the pages are bright and soft. Each page has an interesting feature on it for baby do. There's a crinkley front page with elephants ears stiching out to touch and other pages have fluffy spots and shiney places.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magical Unicorn Power, December 18, 2009
This review is from: Baby Gund Jungle Fun (Bath Book)
This book is like magic. I believe that it is endowed with Unicorn Powers so the cover with the blue elephant is a bit misleading. Before I was given this book by my fairy godmother, my life as new mother was living hell: my son had colic and would not sleep or stop crying. But as soon as I started reading the book to him, he turned into a smiling happy baby like in one of those Gap commercials. It is incredible. Now when I bring this book out, my boy immediately behaves as if he had spent all his life in a boarding school, getting spanked on a regular basis by the head mistress. He also becomes passionate of broccoli, Lima beans, and Brussels sprouts as soon as I put the book on the table. $172.49 is a steal for a book with such magical force. I highly recommend it!
