Easy to install.

It doesn't feel secure and has bad ratings...I haven't opened the actual product box because if I do I can't return it.

At first the Adapter seemed to be incompatible with the Graco Snugride 35 and the directions were horrible. So I returned it back to Buy Buy Baby. But while I was at the store returning the product, the sales person showed me a floor sample and how to properly install the product. I took pictures and posted them above as it is not intuitive and is not mentioned in the product directions.

The bar must be installed such that it will lock in the seat. You won't hear a click because the bar is a little too small, but it does lock the seat in place.

The belt click must be used. I originally set the belt straight up and over the top of the car seat, but felt that it left no room for the baby to sit in the seat. The sales person at buy buy baby showed me that the belt must not be straight, but must hook around a ledge which holds the seat in place and doesn't interfere with where the baby is sitting.

Finally, the seat is set back underneath the canopy of the baby jogger mini stroller which adds extra protection.

Definitely a must have, especially for your newborn. I've read on someones review that they had to remove the whole seat and was left w/ just the frame itself. We didn't have that problem. We simply snapped the adapter on, secured our car seat on the city mini and we were ready to go; without undoing anything on the city mini. The only complaint I have is that I think the adapter is a little pricey...especially for new parents like us. I'll post a pic w/ the car seat on the city mini soon to show how much the city mini rocks.

Strong, nice construction, holds the car set well, and breaks down quickly. We use it when we're traveling/flying, and it's easy to set up or disassemble in the airport.

I read a ton of these reviews and was scared I would never figure this thing out and/or would hate it. Neither turned out to be true. Took me about 5 minutes to put together. Somewhere in the reviews a very nice man posted a short youtube instructional video--watch it. I did that first and it looked so easy that I no longer felt intimidated by the contraption and I didn't even have to read the directions (he has the city select but you install the exact same way with the city mini). Just make sure you: a) use the lower of the two sets of connector holes on the side of the city mini (ie NOT the holes that held the canopy, which you remove); b) don't mix up left and right, and c) know that "head" refers to the head of the car seat (which faces backwards), not the stroller. I do hear a loud click when the car seat is set in the right spot. That said, you can still remove the car seat if you haven't put the red safety latches down. As long as the red safety toggle latch things are down, even though the car seat can move around and wobble a bit it will NOT come out. If you click the safety belt closed (which I really don't think is that big a deal to do) that car seat ain't going anywhere.

So all in all, yes this thing is overpriced but I'm glad I can use the stroller with the car seat for the first couple months. I thought about getting a snap n go but for me it's worthwhile to just not have so many confounded large items sitting around. At least this item is small and when it's no longer necessary I will just put it away in the closet somewhere and it won't take up too much space.

Oh, also, yes, I do wish the canopy could be used. That needs to be fixed somehow.

Addendum 12/13/12: I used this once.

This is definitely useful in the first few weeks. It's so much easier to put the whole seat on the stroller so as not to disturb the baby, plus it enables you to have the baby facing you so you can keep an eye on them.

However, when it's on you can't really collapse the stroller, which is of course the whole point of having a City Mini. It's also pretty darn expensive. You could technically buy a stroller frame for less money, although you would lose the excellent handling of the City Mini. So it really depends on what you need to use your stroller for. If it's only for quick trips on flat terrain, you could probably just get a stroller frame. But if you're going on neighborhood walks on rough sidewalks or at the park, etc., I'd definitely go with the car seat adapter.

Once our baby turned about 8 weeks old, she had great head control so we simply started putting her in the main seat of the stroller with a head support pillow and the seat reclined. While the seat adapter was definitely useful to us, I'm not sure if it was worth $60 to us for only two months of use.

Very helpful, makes my stroller more useful. Now I can use my stroller with an infant car-seat. I'll recommend it to everybody who has a Baby Jogger Stroller.

I purchased this adapter so that we could use the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio car seat on the City Mini GT, and it works great. As other reviewers mentioned, the car seat does not snap into place, but it does feel secure, as it rests on the back bar, and is also strapped to the adapter. The only hassle is that the adapter makes the stroller bulky when collapsed, but it's easy enough to pop the adapter in and out. Although we were able to put my son in the stroller even as an infant without the adapter, it's nice to have for times when we want to transfer him from the car to the stroller without waking him.
