5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT for jogging and walking (but BIG), March 24, 2010
This review is from: Baby Jogger Performance Series Single Jog Stroller (Misc.)
Have it. Love it. We've used it nearly every day for 18 months. We do a little jogging. But, mostly we use it for taking long walks around our neighborhood with the kid and dog.

What I love most: The large wheels and shocks make it very stable. Its, great for uneven sidewalks, gravel roads or on dirt paths etc. The construction is simple and sold. Its build almost like a three wheel bicycle. Also, the sun visor is great. You can extend it just bit, or nearly cover your child. There are see-through panels so you can peak in on your child, and air vents you can open when its hot. And, there is an infant car seat adapter available, if you need one.

The only major draw back is that its BIG. Between the size and the fixed front wheel its a bit awkward to take inside a store. We do so once in a while, but its primarily an out-side stroller. The size also makes it a bit difficult to get in and out of a car. Its very simple and intuitive to fold down, and the wheels come on and off off very easily. But, still, its big. So, it takes up a lot of room in the car. So, we have a simple, lightweight stroller we keep in the trunk for trips to the grocery store, etc.

Also, in case of rain, its worth noting that the sun-visor does not completely cover your child's feet. We don't worry about it unless its really pouring, in which case we use a rain canopy.

Bottom line: If you are looking for something to keep at home, and take on jobs and walks, this is GREAT. But, if you want something that goes in and out of your car a lot, or that you can also take shopping at the mall, or inside the super market you probably need something smaller. In that case, the Bob might be a good compromise. We've heard great things about it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice stroller, if you have a small child..., June 12, 2010
This review is from: Baby Jogger Performance Series Single Jog Stroller (Misc.)
My husband, daughter and I went to try out this jogging stroller at a store. It is an amazing stroller, and the handlebar would accomodate this average-height wife and tall husband. BUT, it's amazing only if you have a small child. Our daughter is 3 years old, 36 pounds, and 3 1/2 feet tall. Her head missed the top of the permanent, unattachable lip of cloth on the top of the seat by less than 2 inches. Her feet sat comfortably on the foot rest. We didn't buy it since we are not buying a $400 jogging stroller that will last a few months.
I still don't get the weight recommendations if they are incrongruent with the height of a child. Even if the max weight were 70 pounds, you could NEVER get a 40, 50, or 60 pound child onto the stroller.
Please be aware of these issues before making such an investment.
