5.0 out of 5 stars cover
This cover keeps the rain out very well. Also is a good wind block. Vents work great. Does become a bit hot inside it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Waterproof but that's about it
$40 is excessive for any rain cover, particularly when you consider that this stroller was made to be a double. Doesn't come in a storage bag nor clip to the frame like other brands for easy access, and when on doesn't attach to the stroller frame, there is some elastic to go over the foot.... that's it. We like the stroller but are finding the accessories over priced...

Doesn't come in a storage bag nor clip to the frame like other brands for easy access, and when on doesn't attach to the stroller frame, there is some elastic to go over the foot.... that's it. We like the stroller but are finding the accessories over priced and not as well thought out. Disappointing, but what are you going to do? Will be trying to use one of the storage bags from our Teutonia or Zooper at least, and see if we can figure out a way to attach it to the frame when in use, but at this price, and for a luxury stroller, this doesn't pass.

1.0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE!, August 10, 2011
This review is from: Baby Jogger Rain Canopy For City Select Seat (Baby Product)
My toddler kicked off the rain cover within minutes in the middle of a torrential rain storm.

It's elastic and has no way to strap it to the stroller. The bottom goes right over the bottom of the seat where her feet are and she was able to not only kick it off but also stick her hands out of the side. By the time we got home, there was (no joke) an entire bucket full of water in the storage area underneath. Everything was ruined.

I'm beside myself that we spent the money on this expensive stroller and now can't even use it in the rain or snow. Unbelievable. Baby Jogger should be ashamed to sell something like this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great product, not thrilled with price, September 6, 2011

I love my baby jogger. Anyone that has one knows how expensive it was to buy. You would think you could get a break on a cover but not so. I have the basinett too so now I spent $80 on covers. And when we have baby two... I will be buying a third. I think $25 would be a better price point.

Works fine. Stupidly expensive for what it is. Many strollers come with a rain canopy, but not this one and we were unable to find a less expensive rain cover that fits the seats on this stroller. We like this stroller, but you have to buy many accessories and they, like this rain cover, are overpriced.

If the price were more reasonable I'd give this cover five stars. But $40 is ridiculous, especially since you have to buy two if you are using the stroller as a double.

That said, we live in a cold and windy city with a lot of snow. This cover really helps keep the wind out of our little ones' faces and allows me to take them on walks even when it's cold. Mama needs her exercise and I suppose $80 isn't a bad price to pay for a few months of walks.

The material is sturdy, and the elastic helps the cover fit reasonably snugly over the seats. It could fit a tad snugger over the sides where you fit the seats into the frame, but it still does the job.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but there is a better and cheaper alternative, November 19, 2011
This review is from: Baby Jogger Rain Canopy For City Select Seat (Baby Product)
I love our Baby Jogger City Select but using it in the rain was a challenge without the rain covers, which unexplicably, are not included. At this exhorbitant price, they're not worth it for a stroller you'll likely use till age five or so. On the plus side, it is better to have individual rain covers for each canopy to provide more options for front/ rear facing seats.

I tried the Sashas Kiddies Model BJCS Baby Jogger City Select Series Single Double Strollers Rain Cover but it doesn't work too well for a the stroller as a double. It only works with the seats forward facing fully upright in stadium position. The quality is below average, cheap cloth elastic straps tie it to the handle, and there's nothing to secure it to the sides or bottom, which basically converts the rain cover into a large sail with the slightest breeze. My kids easily pull the cover to sides.

That said, the Sasha rain cover did work well when the City Select stroller is used as a single, forward facing, as it extends several inches down from the seat and protects the basket as well - with the second seat brackets left in place it helps the cover keep its shape and prevents a child from pulling it aside.

Finally, I found the Jeep Standard Stroller Weather Shield which sells for a fraction of the price does a pretty good job of covering up each seat. It can be used forward or rear facing. I've used it in light rain and during cold weather in general and it's worked fairly well. My only observation is that under very cold temperatures, the plastic on the Jepp covers becomes very stiff and a little hard to handle, but for $16 for both, who can complain?

For the basket, there is an optional Baby Jogger Rain Canopy For Under Seat Basket that helps protect the contents.

Unfortunately, Baby Jogger has really missed the boat on this one - with a few tweaks to extend the rain cover a bit more beyond the seat and a better way to secure it (like Maclaren rain covers which attach to knobs on the side), this could be an excellent product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps out Bugs and Rain, April 15, 2011
This review is from: Baby Jogger Rain Canopy For City Select Seat (Baby Product)
I got this a few months ago and have recently been using it quite a bit. Sometimes I will walk a few miles from home and it's great to have this incase the weather were to turn (I live in New England so this isn't improbable). I find with the mosquitos and gnats all making a comeback now that the weather is becoming warmer that this has been a great product to have. It keeps my son dry in the rain even pretty heavy downpours which I was unfortunate enough to be out in a few weeks back. It doesn't take up that much space in the basket which is huge. It's my second favorite accessorie made by baby jogger. (The first is the child tray...which is awesome!) The only downside to this product is that the sunshade or canopy must be in the fully down position for it to work best and it is on the expensive side.

When I put this thing on the stroller it freaked me out. First, there are only holes on the side of the plastic and just by my LO taking a few breaths the plastic got foggy. What kind of crazy person invented this! Use a Rosk instead. Much safer!!! I don't want my little one thinking its ok to be behind/inside plastic...
