Fantastic!!!, January 15, 2002
This review is from: Baby Know-It-All Smartypants [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Smartypants is just a wonderful video. We've been watching it over the course of 6 months, and both of my toddlers, ages 9 months and 2 years love it equally. There are a lot of interactive sequences. The introduction to the parts of the face is a favorite. There is plenty of language on this video, and a wide array of musical styles. Usually, videos that have a lot of language haven't held the attention of Carla, my nine month old, but this one does. My two year old loves the seasons, and participates with the counting section. We particularly appreciate the section on the elements, as it introduces them in a manner which is both captivating and educational. We also enjoy the colors and rhymes section, as the rhymes are as playful as the scenes. Each color is represented by a food, an animal and an article of clothing. The goodbye section at the end of the video, and the constant encouragement of the puppet are great for our childrens self esteem and social skills. Thank you to Produced With Love for putting out a series that is not aimed at selling more products, but at inspiring our children.

Baby Know-It-All: Finally, a novel new idea in baby videos!, October 19, 2001
This review is from: Baby Know-It-All Smartypants [VHS] (VHS Tape)
As a grandmother who watches videos with my three grandkids, I was delighted to find a video that delights all of them. My 10 month old can point to the parts of his face and body now, the 2 year old has learned his counting, shapes, colors, etc., and the 4 year old can recite all the rhymes. The kids ask for the Baby Know-It-All videos more than all the rest we have. Smarty Pants (Part 1) is really making smarty pants of them all! The children really like seeing the kids in the video. They sometimes comment that they are doing things "just like me!" And they love Natasha! It's so great to finally find a video that captivates all three of them! Another thing that I really like...they explain what the "seasons" are. So, when I tell the kids that it is "summer" or "winter", they are beginning to understand what I'm talking about. They even have the four elements in a manner that little ones can relate to. I recommend this video, and it's companion, Lil Bloomers, to all the grammas and moms with young soon-to-be know-it-alls!

COMMUNICATION BOOSTER FOR BABIES!!, August 16, 2002
This review is from: Baby Know-It-All Smartypants [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My two youngest children are both learning so much from Smartypants. I watch too, but thanks to a great production, I don't need to constantly narrate, a welcome change. This video taught our 10 month old daughter ... very simple activities in the 3 months that we've had it, and through daily repetition, we have steadily increased her general awareness, tenfold! ... Our 3 year old ... is definiely improving his language skills and processing concepts. The video invites interaction throughout, and there are enough questions and movement to keep [him] interacting.. The narration varies in degree of complexity from one word to a few sentences that correspond to the image on screen. [His] vocabulary has remarkably increased, and he practices the rhymes in the color section and in each Season. He has already mastered the scenes that are labeled with single words. This video's focus' is on helping babies learn many new things. Very well rounded musically, it includes the best classical pieces with stuff we grew up on, like "The Entertainer". In all its' simplicity, this video deserves the 2002 Top Awards for most Outstanding and Educational New Release for babies. The only pitfall--it's not yet on DVD, so keep your VCR's handy!
