From the Manufacturer

The Baby K'tan Breeze Baby Carrier is an innovative breathable mesh active carrier that is an ideal blend of a sling, wrap and carrier, providing the positions and benefits of all three. Lighter than any other carrier on the market, the Breeze carrier has the same great double loop design as the original Baby K'tan, but is made of 50% breathable mesh & 50% soft cotton. This mesh/cotton construction will reduce heat and moisture, making it more breathable and comfortable for baby and parent while retaining the same stability and ease of use as the original. There is no other carrier available like it (a ready-to-wear wrap!) that enables parents & caregivers to comfortably carry infants and toddlers (from birth to 3 years) in multiple positions. The K'tan carrier is ideal for premature babies and babies with special needs. It is lightweight and compact like a sling, yet goes over both shoulders to evenly distribute baby's weight like a structured carrier. The adjustable back support band offers the wearer extra back support and makes it easy to adjust baby or toddler's weight distribution on both shoulders. The exclusive design offers the wearer a 100% cotton carrier that is ready-to-wear, with NO buckles, snaps, rings or hardware! Extremely simple to use, the secret behind this parent-invented, ready-to-wear baby carrier is its unique double-loop design, which gives added security for carrying baby and privacy for mom while nursing! It is easy to put on and take off, and comes in a free carry bag! Baby K'tan, LLC uses all 100% natural cotton free of harmful chemicals, formaldehydes and azo dyes.

Customer Reviews

I like the mesh of the Breeze - very good since I live in Texas.
And it's very easy to put on, if you go to the website they have some videos that help make it a little more clear.
a first time mom
My daughter was quite small when she was born and the size medium works well for us but is tight after washing.

I bought this from Figure 8 maternity through Amazon.

At first, I have some doubts if this is even worth so much, given the cheapest moby wrap is almost half of the price of a Baby Ktan. I did all the research including reviewing all the Youtubes and read whatever reviews I could find. Finally - I purchased this, and also the full cotton version from Amazon as well.

Cotton vs Cotton/mesh (breeze) version
I tried both and decided that the full cotton version is just too warm for TX weather. If you stay in the north and will use this mostly in winter - then go for the full cotton version. The full cotton version is more comfortable to wear (for the mother) but I think the mess version is "safer" for the baby - since it's more breathable and cooler. The mesh version may be more uncomfortable to wear esp when the mesh is at the back - it "crumples" into a knot and there's added pressure.

The pros of the mesh version - it's lighter and easier to bring around. The cotton one weighs more. If I were to buy for a gift, I will buy the mesh version - I only wish that they sell the mesh version with the extra cotton sash piece. When I contacted Ktan (they were fast in responding emails), they sell it on their website the extra sash for 5.99 and a few more dollars for shipping.

Buying the right size
I was not sure what size fits me . The sizing info suggested by the manufacturer is right - buy the size prior to your pregnancy, or your current size. It might be a little tight initially but it will "season" in, and stretch. If it becomes too "loose" - just throw it into the washing machine and dryer. You need to wear the baby for a few days to actually decide if the size is right. At first, I though M is too small for me even tho I am a 10/12.

I don't think I could have survived without my Baby K'Tan in the first six months of my son's life! He was born in July, so my Moby wrap was out of the question (way too hot), so I scoured Amazon for a better option. The Baby K'Tan Breeze was exactly what I was looking for!

I am 5'3", and anywhere from 120-140 lbs., depending on how recently I have had a baby, haha. The XS fits great. When I wash it, I hang it to dry so it doesn't shrink as much, and once it's dry, I stretch it out a little by hand, and then it's perfect. I think if I had gotten the Small, it would have been a little too big.

I seriously can't think of any cons for this thing.

Here are the pros:

-It is so lightweight. I can ball it up and stuff it in my purse and practically not know it's there. So portable.
-It doesn't require miles and miles of wrapping in order to get it on. Slip it over your head, and you're ready to go.
-The different ways you can wear it are amazing! It totally grows with your baby. As a newborn wrap, it is so cozy, but not hot at all. When my son was about 4 months old, I would take my daughter to the park and face him forward so he could take in the world, and then when it was naptime, but we weren't ready to leave the park, I would take him out, turn him around, and put him in facing me, and he would fall right to sleep while my daughter kept playing.
-The mesh/cotton-knit combo is fantastic.

Every time we went somewhere and my son was in the K'Tan, somebody would stop me and ask what kind of baby carrier I had. I always recommended it to anyone who asked (and sometimes more!).

I have tried a lot of the baby carriers...beco, ergo, mobi, traditional slings, etc....this is hands down the best baby carrier on the market!! It is soft and all cotton so no hard parts to pinch your baby or rough fabric against his/her skin. It can do all the best positions and is totally safe. I am also able to slip it off when my daughter falls asleep without waking her up which is not possible with most other carriers. Buy this carrier! The only comment is that I think that the sizing is incorrect. I am a size 4 dress and according to the company's sizing I should use a size small. My daughter was quite small when she was born and the size medium works well for us but is tight after washing. I have tried the size small and it squishes her against me in an uncomfortable fashion. I would suggest buying one size bigger than they say to.

I like the idea of this carrier more than the carrier itself. I have the white Breeze in a size small. Pre-pregnancy I wore a size 6 dress, and though the small is pretty snug, I feel like it fits well.

This carrier is easy to put on, and it's easy to get my newborn into it, but I can only stand to wear it for short periods of time. It is definitely not a hands-free carrier, and I keep one hand on my baby the whole time I wear it because it feels a little unstable. My baby is 3.5 weeks old now, and I've worn her in it since she was five days old. I don't think we will use it much past 2-3 months because I feel like it might be too small to be comfortable for her by then. For now, she really likes it and is usually quick to settle down in it if she is fussy or tired.

The videos and instruction guides online show that you can use part of the fabric to support a newborn's head. This is good in theory, but it doesn't really work out for me that way. The fabric also slips around a lot, so I have to constantly adjust it so that it is supporting her head or not covering her face. I also get tired of adjusting the fabric on my shoulders because it won't stay in place.

We own one other carrier - a soft-structured Lillebaby Complete Air, similar to the Ergo - that I like MUCH better as it is completely hands free and easily supports my daughter's head. It feels more secure and does not hurt my back. My husband really likes it too.

Update 7/3/14: I've since started wearing my baby in the tummy-to-tummy legs out position, and it is a lot more secure and more comfortable for her. It truly feels hands free with legs out.
