5.0 out of 5 stars Help baby's brain grow and have fun while doing it - Don't miss out!
This book makes me want to have another baby! This book is so much fun! 2.0 out of 5 stars Basic information
This book is great if you are looking for basic information. The pages don't turn very easily and you have to turn the book around to see the next page instead of flipping the page. Would not buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Help baby's brain grow and have fun while doing it - Don't miss out!, May 1, 2006
This review is from: Baby Massage: Soothing Strokes for Healthy Growth (Spiral-bound)
This book makes me want to have another baby! This book is so much fun! The author does an excellent job of delivering what is really a very important message about early infant growth and development while preserving a simple and fun approach that inspires the reader to want to give it a try. Once you try it, you're hooked! If done the way the author suggests in the CLASS approach, you are setting you and your baby up for optimum communication, positive shared experiences and an all around good time that you 'll want again and again. The format is genius - flipchart style! Get this book. If you don't, you are missing out on one of the joys of parent-infant interaction - and it's EXCELLENT FOR DADS too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Joyful Connections, May 2, 2006
This review is from: Baby Massage: Soothing Strokes for Healthy Growth (Spiral-bound)
We have learned so much in the last decade about what babies want and need in order to grow into healthy people. Suzanne's book teaches us how to connect with our babies through compassionate touch. She explains to us and shows us how to have experiences that contribute to the physical, social, and emotional development of our little ones. This is a MUST HAVE for couples thinking about conceiving, those who are pregnant, and anyone who is responsible for nurturing and caring for babies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suzanne's Book is Magic!, August 12, 2006
This review is from: Baby Massage: Soothing Strokes for Healthy Growth (Spiral-bound)
Suzanne has it down. You might begin this book with the intention of giving your baby all of the benefits that massage has to offer Such as promoting physiological, neurological and psychological development and function.

But, as it turns out, the bonding that occurs during these special times you spend with your baby are priceless. Developing a deep relationship with your baby that will last a lifetime.

Thanks Suzanne!

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful & Straightforward, September 28, 2009
As an exhausted new parent I want to read books that get straight to the point, provide simple and straightforward information, and expand my parenting repertoire. This book met these criteria in spades. The introduction provides important background information about the benefits of infant massage, while not being overly technical or trying to "sell" something I am already open to learning. The author also directs readers to other books by experts in infant massage if a more comprehensive read is desired.

The techniques are easy to follow and the photographs provide a clear visual demonstration. Reese also offers suggestions for songs to sing along with the different massages! One thing I researched a little more is oils with good reviews by other parents since Reese informs parents that they should only use oils that you would cook with. I have found that Burt's Bees Burt's Bees Apricot Baby Oil 4 fl oz oil and California Baby California Baby Calming Massage Oil Aromatherapy - 4.5 oz got great reviews on their infant oils.

This is so great to not only allow both parents or even a grandparent to bond with the baby, it is so stimulating as well as calming for the baby as well. Easy to follow directions and pictures. A must for any 1st time parents!

5.0 out of 5 stars Neat Foldout book makes it easy to read, July 3, 2008

This review is from: Baby Massage: Soothing Strokes for Healthy Growth (Spiral-bound)
The spiral bound book folds over like a table tent which makes it easy to set up and read while you're holding the baby. I was so busy when my baby came home that it was one of the few books I was actually able to read. The content is good too in that it provides you not only with simple, easy to do massage techniques, but also has a wide variety of information including how to calm your baby, what oils to use etc.

If you're expecting this to be a reference book of sorts or anything more than a step by step basic guide to baby massage, then it's not the one for you. The format of the book would make it difficult to reference.

I love this book. I teach infant massage and I provide this book and Vimala McClure's Infant Massage to my students. My husband loves this book, too. He uses it every night when he massages our baby. It's so easy to prop it up at the changing table!

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby Massage book, October 2, 2011

Being a massage therapist myself, I found this book very informative and easy to follow. The book stands up so that you can easily massage your baby while following along. I found that this was an impressive feature that no other book I have found has. I have purchased many Baby/Infant massage books and I really really like this one. I gave this as a shower gift and the mommmy really loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of great techniques for new babies, May 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I loved this book. I used it on my first daughter and massaged her legs, feet, arms and hands every night before bed. We also used it to massage her tummy when she got gassy. She loved it. My second daughter was very colicky and gassy and we used every technique to help soothe her. We used the tummy ones along with gas drops to help her relieve the gas pain from crying so much. I would highly recommend this book to any new mom.
