Clear, easy to follow directions about what to do in most any baby related emergency. It's great peace of mind to keep and invaluable to have should one need to use it! Even though my kids are older, I still have my copy. The general information about burns, bites etc is helpful at any age. Great baby gift.

Most people are never more nervous than when you take your first newborn home from the hospital. You have a baby, they send you home from the hospital and you are on your own. My husband were preparing to take our son home for the very first time and we were like, "can you believe they are letting us leave with him? what do we know?" Then when we got him in the house, we both looked at each other and said, "now what." Eventually like all parents we figured it out and did a lot of reading. I used to carry a teeny, tiny emergency book in my diaper bag. It was free with something and really couldn't have helped me if something did happen, but I felt better knowing I had it.

That was 8 years ago and I am happy to report all is well however, I would have loved to have something like the Baby MEDBASICS® Emergency Action Steps At Your Finger Tips sized right book. The book measures smaller than my hand and only about 2 inches thick but, it packs a punch. Everything you need to know is inside these perfect, colorful, organized reference guide.

What I Can Tell You:
This is the perfect size to be carried with you at all times. I would have felt so much more secure if I had this with me from the beginning.

It is simple to use. All sections are color coded. You flip to the problem at hand and read. For instance: Fever.
The book breaks down the basics. When to call the doctor. How to measure a fever. Changes to watch for. How to treat a fever. Even febrile seizures and how to handle one.

This is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Great baby shower gift to accompany another gift or alone.

We took a basic CPR and first aid infant class which was better that this book but it was also hands on. This book however does have concise and to the point information so in an emergency it is fairly easy to read. I would highly recommend taking an in person class but if you do not have time, then this book is not bad.

This little book lives permanently in our diaper bag and goes everywhere our baby girl goes. The information is thorough and easy to understand. I love that it gives helpful advice on what to do and what not to do, lists symptoms to watch for, and is very clear on when it's time to call the doctor or 911. It has made me feel more secure and prepared as a mother. HIGHLY recommend!

This little book is so easy to use and small enough to keep close at hand. The spiral binding inside lets it lay flat for reading and the instructions are well written and easy to follow. The pages are strong and coated so they can be wiped down if needed and tabs for each section make it simple to locate subjects. I have given it as newborn gifts. It is great to leave with a baby sitter or grandparents.

I love this book and this company! Even before I had my own baby, when I heard about this book I started sending them to all the new parents I knew as a baby gift. Everyone gets enough toys and clothes but I thought that empowering them to feel prepared in case of an emergency was priceless. Now that I have my own baby, I keep this book nearby in our kitchen and make sure everyone knows where it is in case of an emergency. I have taken all the baby safety classes but I just felt better knowing that in case something happens, I won't have to rely on my (very poor!) memory and I have an easy-to-follow book at my fingertips. Now I am just awaiting the Toddler version that I hear is coming out this summer. Thank you, Medbasics!!

My daughter took a class to prepare her for babysitting. She is so excited to start her first money-making job. Baby MEDBASICS is an excellent resource for babysitters. What my daughter and I like most about this book:

Concise to-the-point information for handling the emergency or medical need; not a lot of reading to muddle through.
Valuable information to learn ahead of time and to reference when the particular need arises. (In a panic, sometimes we forget what we already know.)
Compact enough to fit inside her purse or handbag.
Spiral-bound, making it easy to stay on the page.
Large tabs in bold colors for each section provide easy access to the need at hand (CPR, Falls, Choking, Fever, etc.)
Durable pages to withstand frequent usage.

I will feel more confident in my daughter's responsibility of small children, knowing that she has this guide to handle emergencies with children (birth to one year). I will be getting her a copy for the older age groups, as well.

Thanks to FSB Media for providing a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review! (I had my daughter's input, as well.)
