Product Description

Size: 6-9 months (18-21 lbs.) | Color: Pink

The Magic Sleepsuit is an innovative baby sleepwear product that helps transition babies from the swaddle by providing them with a cozy and secure feeling, and muffling their reflexive startles to aid in their sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit was created by a mother of four who is a pediatric physical therapist to improve the quality and duration of her babies' sleep. The patent pending Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the crib, and replaces loose bedding while providing your baby with a cozy, calming and safe sleep environment that will become a consistent part of their sleep routine. The Magic Sleepsuit has a soft, comfy microfleece outer layer and breathable cotton inner layer with a layer of poly-fil in between for just enough comfort. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be introduced at approximately three months of age and helps the transition into the crib without the need for parental intervention (holding, nursing, rocking, etc.). The Magic Sleepsuit provides babies with the comfort they need by muffling those twitches and startle-type movements that can wake them prematurely, and by keeping them cozy and secure making it easier to go to sleep on their own or fall back asleep if woken. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to aid the baby's sleep patterns, but also gives the parents and/or caregivers peace of mind that their baby is getting adequate rest necessary for appropriate growth and development. It is recommended that babies transition out of the Magic Sleepsuit by approximately 9 months of age, the age when babies are sitting, crawling and starting to pull to standing independently. This is also an age when good sleep patterns should be established. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be used in the crib for back sleeping only, the recommended position for sleep to reduce the risk of SIDS. The Magic Sleepsuit helps eliminate the need for blankets and other loose bedding, which is consistent with many recommendations to prevent SIDS.

Baby sleeps 10 hours every night since using this suit.

I also worry if she's too hot on warmer days, but it seems to keep her warm but not overheated.

Without it, her startle reflex still wakes her up throughout the night.

My daughter slept for a long stretch in her crib because of this. I use it for naps too. It works a little like a loose swaddle/straight jacket in that it doesnt allow baby's flailing to wake her. It really is pretty miraculous. Hope we dont end up needing the 6-9 and we can simply put her in a sleep sack.

WARNING: flip inside out and cut out any loose strings... especially near feet. My daughter woke up screaming with a string wrapped tightly around her toe. It was difficult to unwrap. It happened twice.

Around the 4.5 mos mark for our daughter, she was breaking out of her swaddles. In addition, she was really starting to fuss and arch her back enough that we were no longer comfortable with her using the rock n play- she was starting to get a little too big, and too strong to be left alone in it (I woke up in the middle of the night to her gripping the side and pulling/rolling herself up the edge...even with the belt. Eeeek!). After trying on and off for a couple months before then to get her into the crib, it was go time with no more allowance in the rock n play. The transition to crib was very difficult for all of us until we were recommended the Baby Merlin Magic Sleepsuit.

We specifically started using this as an assist to our transition from a rock n play to crib (I've heard many people also use this as a transition out of swaddling - this was somewhat of an issue for us, but not as much as the need to get her into the crib was). Prior to using it, she had trouble staying alseep in the crib - we'd get maybe two hours at a time out of her before she'd start rolling around & thrashing her head, and crying incessantly (I'm assuming from missing the comforting constriction/incline she'd get in the rock n play- because prior to her growing too big for it, she was sleeping for long stretches of time in the rock n play). Though it wasn't our primary concern, there was also the problem that she'd also had trouble getting to sleep without being swaddled prior to using this suit.

This product is super hot so unless you are using in the winter with a disposable diaper - skip it. Also it is so hard o put the baby in. Why didnt they put the zippers all the way down the legs to make it easier to get the baby into. Trying to put the baby into it when he is semi-sleepy wakes him right up.

I do! This review is based on 8 straight days of using this product. First a little background - my little one was a good sleeper from day one. He slept in a pack `n play in our room and woke up every few hours for feeding. I always fed him in a chair, but then started letting him lay in bed and fall asleep while eating. Then it stared to get easy to just put him in bed with us when we went to bed and feed him on demand throughout the night. Feeding started to increase and he wouldn't go back to sleep without feeding. When we tried to put him in his crib he struggled falling and staying asleep because of his reflexes (flailing arms!) - he would wake himself up!

At 4 months we knew we had to stop before we created unhealthy sleeping habits for our little guy. We didn't exactly agree on sleep training techniques (i.e. cry it out vs.not!). For over a week we tried putting him in his crib - he cried for literally over an hour each night ending with us breaking down and getting him. He kept ending up back in our bed. If we were lucky enough to get him to fall asleep in the crib he continued to wake throughout the night wanting to feed (and ended up back in our bed).
At someone's suggestion we decided to try the Magic Merlin. Below is a breakdown of our experience.

Day 1: 45 minutes of crying; then slept 10 hours straight
Day 2: 15 minutes of crying; then slept 10 hours straight
Day 3: 4 minutes of crying; woke up once - fed (he actually ate, not just using it to go to sleep), then went back into his Merlin suit and slept; total 11 hours.

We already had the 3-6 month suit so I knew this one would be just as good. I absolutely credit the sleepsuit with helping my son sleep through the night. The only thing to keep in mind is that baby is wearing a little comforter, so he only wears a tshirt onesie and socks under it to bed, otherwise he wakes up a grumpy sweaty baby :)

I cannot recommend this enough! I want to give it a million stars! The Merlin Magic Sleepsuit saved my sanity. We swaddled my son until he was about 3 months old and was too strong to be swaddled. He could not sleep without a swaddle, but would bust out of the swaddle at 45 minutes. I bought several other "swaddle weaning" suits. The Merlin not only worked, but it worked better than the swaddle! My son slept for more than 45 minutes for a nap for the first time in his life. I suddenly had time to eat and do the dishes. It also calmed him, and he would sit quietly in his car seat for long car rides. We bought two in the 3-6 month size and then one in the 6-9 months. The suits withstood several washing machine washes. Around 5 months, my son could roll very well, and did not like to be so calm and still in the Merlin. If you are considering buying this, do it - you will get back your valuable time!
