5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Distraction DVD February 14, 2013
My youngest son received this video as a gift. I was skeptical about how interesting this DVD would be - the videos are just various clips of toys and images of food, played over classical music (Mozart). After a few months, here's what I think:

+ My youngest son is completely mesmerized by the video. I get a half hour of distraction to get chores done.
+ The music is pleasing for everyone in the house (my oldest son likes it too).
+ After a few months they still enjoy watching it.

- Lacks any educational value.

The educational value thing bothered me, but DVDs are amazing for buying time. After researching on Amazon, I found and bought these videos to address that problem:

* Tiny Tutor: Early Language Development System: 4 very simple videos that cover letters, numbers, shapes and colors. My youngest LOVES these videos.
* LeapFrog: Learning DVD Set: 3 DVD set that is better for older kids (Leapfrog suggests 3-6 years old). My oldest really likes "Talking Words Factory".
* Baby Signing Time Volume 1 DVD: AMAZING. My youngest knows how to sign for milk, more food, and when he is done eating! I wish I had this for my oldest.

For distraction value, Baby Mozart is great, and it's still my youngest son's favorite DVD. 5+ stars for giving me time to get things done around the house.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT video December 27, 2001
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
I read the review and decided to purchase the video...and wasn't disappointed. I purchased it for my 2 year old daughter, and she absolutely loved it. She sat through the show from start to finish, enthralled with the music and motion on screen. Then, along came our third child, and at only a few months, she was entranced by the video as well. Our "new baby" is now 9 months, and whenever we pop in the Baby Mozart video, her whole face lights up, and her body language "settles in" to watch. She watches from start to finish as well, without a wimper. When she does start to fuss, we know the video is over. Even our 8 year old son doesn't mind "sharing" the TV with his little sisters when Baby Mozart is on. Although he is too old for the simple graphics on-screen, he loves the music, and so does Mom. This video is a great our family, it pleases everyone, ages 8, 2-1/2, 9 mos. and Mom and Dad, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby Mozart has saved my sanity August 19, 2003
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
I had picked up various Baby Einstein tapes while pregnant but didn't expect to use them until my son was closer to a year old. I also never intended to encourage TV watching. At around 5 months, however, and before his eyes even seemed to focus on the TV, I popped in the Baby Mozart tape in a moment of extreme fussiness and frustration. He was immediately mesmorized. He is 8 months old now and will not sit still for any TV show or video EXCEPT for Baby Mozart. He stops crying, whining, or whatever else he is doing and stares in awe throughout the entire video. He even gets mad if you walk in front of the screen while it's playing! There are times I rewind it and play it again and again until I get the dishes done and order restored. My son is captivated (and hopefully learning something) and the music is delightful enough not to have (yet) grated on my nerves. I highly recommend this video to any parent. Of the other tapes: Baby Beethoven is also a good choice for infants, but has an irritatingly long introduction that loses Baby's interest before the action begins. Baby Doolittle seems like the tape my son will love next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby Mozart December 7, 1999
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
Baby Mozart is WONDERFUL! We don't leave home without it. It's a simple yet very entertaining and creative video that displays toys (EVERY child's favorite thing) while playing Mozart music in the background. My daughter started watching it at 7 months. She's a little over a year now and I can still rely on Baby Mozart to keep her content for the entire half hour. I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone - not just children. It's very calming for adults, relaxing for the elderly and holds the interest of a child . . . all at the same time.

5.0 out of 5 stars It really grabs my baby's attention! February 17, 2002
I bought this DVD because I had heard many good things about it. I'm glad I did! My daughter starting watching it at 3 1/2 months. Now she is 5 months and still watches it everyday. It is part of our morning routine. She watches it right after bathtime and her morning bottle (so Mommy can eat a quick breakfast). She squeals with delight everytime. The music is great! It has a combination of things to look at. Each segment lasts about 45 seconds. There are toys in motion, puppets, fiber optic lamps with changing colors, still pictures of fruits and animals, colored water toys, etc... My daughter gets bored with a few of the segments (still pictures of fruits and animals), but that is OK because another segment is going to start in just a few seconds. She loves the puppets and brightly colored water toys. I really like it because humans are not in the video (only hands that are playing with the toys). I am not a fan of putting children in front of the TV, but I don't mind this one. It is educational for a baby with the interesting things to look at and the wonderful music to dance to. Mommy also gets to eat her breakfast!

I give this a 4-star because my Granddaughter isn't as interested in this DVD as the Neptune's Oceans one. There are a lot of toys used as the means of entertainment.
