A big book of names.,
By
This review is from: Baby Name Encyclopedia: The Perfect Baby Name Advisor (Paperback)
This is a big book of names. This is the biggest book of names but not the most amount of names in a book.Topics include baby name tips,100 popular names, numerology, and, birthdates of famous people, etc. The rest of the book is devoted to baby names with meanings and origins listed by country, divided up into girls names then boys names. Its an interesting book. But,there are better books.
I found 2 faults with this book: 1)the book could have been reduced to a smaller size. 2)an index of all names should have been included. Reasonably priced.

Great!!!,
This review is from: Baby Name Encyclopedia: The Perfect Baby Name Advisor (Paperback)
It's definitely a great book and everybody has to read it. There are many different and exciting categories which tell you everything about a name. After you read it, you won't miss anything. Everybody should read this book.

PERFECT BOOK FROM A PERFECT AUTOR,
This review is from: Baby Name Encyclopedia: The Perfect Baby Name Advisor (Paperback)
This book will help you find a perfect name for your child that others will complement him or her on but will not make him/her feel like an outcast.
So if you have eccentric tastes you have to buy this book; hopefully this book will inspire more people to follow suit!!!

Excellent book!,

This book is really singular. It has very many interesting categories, which is missing to other books much. It is varied. But first of all it is very helpful, if one liked to find the fullcoming name.

Terrible book - why all the positive reviews?,
This review is from: Baby Name Encyclopedia: The Perfect Baby Name Advisor (Paperback)
Are these reviews from the author's friends and family? This book is a joke. No offense, but it looks like info culled off the internet and copy-pasted into a word documented, printed to an inkjet, photocopied and bound. Even worse, much of the information is inaccurate. I showed some of the foreign name sections to native speakers, and they laughed at some of the ridiculous errors. Buyer beware -- do not name your child based on this book without confirming elsewhere. I would hate to have children named based on false information.

A Truly Terrible Book!,
By
This review is from: Baby Name Encyclopedia: The Perfect Baby Name Advisor (Paperback)
My husband and I are expecting our first child, so of course I rushed out and bought 3 different naming books (this one, Best Exotic Baby Names, and The Baby Name Wizard -- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BABY NAME WIZARD!!). This book is BY FAR the most disappointing. Sure, the Astrology, Numerology, and other little sections at the beginning are amusing, but the meat and potatoes of the book? Short lists of names separated by Nationality. Many of the names are repeated several times under different Nationality sections, and there are errors in formatting, name placement, and TONS of typos (you think that's no big deal until you find a name and you're not even sure what it is because it has random symbols and letters stuck in the middle and end). You can look at a name in one section, and have it shown as a different nationality altogether (for example, you'll find names in the Hungarian section that are stated to be from Indian origins). Do yourself a favor and just avoid this book altogether. There are MUCH BETTER books out there.

Disappointing Book,

This review is from: Baby Name Encyclopedia: The Perfect Baby Name Advisor (Paperback)
This book looks like it has been written in and printed from Word. It's even printed on 8 1/2" by 11" paper. The names are only divided by nationality. Many of the names are repeated 2 or 3 times. There are errors in formatting and in name placement. For example, the name Sinead is listed under the Irish Male Names, but then has "female" as the origin, "Irish" as the meaning, and "gracious" as similar names. Under the Hungarian section there are several names which have the origin listed as Indian. Given how few names are included, there shouldn't be so many errors. Very Disappointing book...I had to return it.

Are we talking about the same book?!,
By
This review is from: Baby Name Encyclopedia: The Perfect Baby Name Advisor (Paperback)
I cannot believe that people like this book! I got this after reading all these positive reviews on Amazon, and it is horrible!
Here is why: 1. It looks like a 4 year-old proofread it (take the name: Kendr&eague; on pg. 237... the & and the ; are acutally printed in the name!). Whoever claimed to have edited this thing needs to get new glasses. 2. All of the spacing is horrible, and the Excel-like spreadsheet grids look tacky and aren't even sized well. The girdlines are there sometimes not not there other times. It makes it look like an ill-written chart for highschool. 3. The "Similar Names" category often runs down 1/3 of a page; a problem that could have easilly been solved if the column was wider. There are enev some spots where it runs to the next page and you have to flip back just to see what name it's supposed to be similar to. 4. There is no index of names in the back, so good luck trying to find the meaning of a name that you are considering without having to go through every page. 5. The choices for many of the categories are extremely limited. I'm sure there are many more than 6 Chinese male baby names, 12 Irish male names, and 13 Italian male names, but those are all that are listed! I could go on and on about how horrible this book is. It is the least user-friendly book I have ever seen. It looks like someone took absolutely no pride in producing a quality product and just threw something together without any care of how it was going to be presented. I don't even know if the information is accurate regarding the meanings of the names, but I do know that when it comes to what month someone is born in (a section in the front of the book), if it's not January, you may be doomed, because people who come out of almost every other month will have horrible qualities (ex. Those born in May will get divorced easilly then regret it.).

A Fun Book!,
By
This review is from: Baby Name Encyclopedia: The Perfect Baby Name Advisor (Paperback)
This baby name book includes fun things like numerology, first letter meanings, popular names, tips on naming, and history/origin of the names. I also like the big size as it makes it easier for me to read while sitting infront of the TV or laying in bed. It would be better if it included an index of the names and more names. I am glad to have this book and recommend it. I also recommend The Hidden Truth of Your Name, The Nomenology Project.

I was highly disappointed when I received this book...it has very limited names and they are in groups of "actor/actress names" "famous names" "wealthy names" etc. It is sort of on the metaphysical side and has numerology and stuff (which is fine if you are looking for that) but it was not for me. I took this book and traded it in to a local bookstore and got one of the more well known baby names books and was much happier with it
