About the Author
Before becoming a writer, Stephanie Zia was a production assistant, researcher and director, working on BBC music, art and anthropological documentaries around the world. After the birth of her daughter in 1994, she stopped moving around so much and published two 'mum-lit' novels, Baby on Board (Piatkus 2003) and Keeping Mum (Piatkus 2004). She has also written for national newspapers, women's magazines and interiors magazines.

Author of 2 Piatkus commercial fiction novels and 2 Hamlyn non-fiction books, Stephanie has written for a variety of publications. From 2005-11 she was the cleaning guru for The Guardian newspaper's popular Space Solves column. Embracing the independent publishing revolution, Stephanie started blackbirdebooks in 2010 to produce her first ebook. Done & Dusted - The Organic Home On A Budget is a collection of her Guardian columns augmented by a thrifty, healthy household tip guide. Other titles include Love Never Lies, about a 50 year old widow back on the dating scene; The Smile In The Garden With The Starfish, her collected short stories, and Babe On Board a comedy romance about a single 40-year-old first-time mum. As well as epublishing her own books, Stephanie enjoys editing and producing other mid-list authors' titles at blackbirdebooks. She lives in London with her partner and teenage daughter.
