Good for baby or good for profits?,
By
This review is from: Baby Needs Bach (Audio CD)
I promised myself I would never again review these compilations in which pieces of this and that longer composition are pulled out of context and rearranged under some pretext as "A Night in Spain" or "Beethoven Goes to the Movies" or this latest "scientific" discovery that peaceful music is good for babies. Peaceful music is good for everybody, for heaven's sake; and the only reason I am writing this is because I am playing the Delos CD and it put me into a good mood.Any decent classical collection will doubtless have all these pieces in their proper places; but if you are giving a candlelight supper and want some very nice background music, this CD is a wonderful source of same. But getting to the point, I shudder to think of wee ones growing up bombarded by ear-splitting rock or salsa or rap and of what it does to their growing nervous systems (the adults are probably beyond all hope by this time). Perhaps Bach and Mozart and the other composers who will appear in this "Baby Needs..." series will not make them any smarter, but it certainly will not fry their cerbral cortexes before they can walk. Of course this is a selling gimmick! But with music as beautful as this, who cares?

The Babies Love Bach!,
By
This review is from: Baby Needs Bach (Audio CD)
I am employed as a teacher in a daycare facility and work with children from the ages of 1-2 years of age. I purchased this CD to play when the children are going down for their daily naps after lunch. They absolutely adore the beautiful music contained on this CD...and so do I. After they have all fallen asleep I straighten up the room and prepare for the afternoon while being soothed myself by the wonderful melodies from Bach. Every one a gem! I highly recommend this CD to anyone who needs to unwind and let go of some of the stress built up during a long day. Play it for the babies and play it for yourselves as well.

Beautiful, soothing music- this is the one to buy!,

My son LOVES this CD- we've played it to him every night since he was in the womb and it always soothes him when he's fussy. We've purchased a number of other "baby classical music CD's" that have ranged in quality from decent to awful, but this one is absolutely sublime. It has a beautiful selection of the original arrangements- not some watered-down, re-arranged baby versions.

My twin daughters listened to this album in the womb, they were born with this album playing in the background and now I play it for them regularly in the car. Timeless beautiful music that every child deserves to hear.

Everyone Needs Bach!,

Forget the baby picture on the cover and the title; this is superb music by Bach, the Great One. Beautiful performances, outstanding sound, and sublime music, what more could you want? (well, ok, better liner notes would be a good start.) Anyways, our baby has this played nightly to him but I don't know whether he or the grownup enjoys it more! Spend a few bucks, add some great music to the life of your family and kids, and encourage a lifetime appreciation of music!

We have purchased several of this series of CDs and they are great compilations and must haves for home and in the car. They help bring the stress levels down particularly when you are driving. A must have CD

For the Baby in All of Us,
By Ricardo Bianucci (Myrtle Beach, SC USA) - See all my reviews

I don't write reviews, but as a former artist I was taken by this performance. For those who know, Carol Rosenberger is a marvelously trained concert pianist who contracted adult Polio early in her career and had to withdraw temporarily from her profession. In California, through 2009 she continued concertizing and recording and she remains a highly sought-after teacher of the keyboard.
This is a wonderful no-nonsense, no-gimmick and most musical interpretation of historically significant composers of keyboard music - some who actually composed these works for their children or inspired by the innocence. Soothing would be almost an understatement, relaxing - absolutely and mind you - dare I say - tearfully day-dreamy and reflective. Hopefully those are attributes that are not lost on a fast-paced modern society. With my first born on the way, I expect to have headphones on the wife's belly (with her permission, albeit a pianist herself)by the third trimester hoping that some of this musical inspiration will soak in. If nothing else, we will have the satisfaction of trying and enjoying this CD over and over. |
