I don't know crap about kids. I'm even more clueless about what to get soon-to-be-parents. When a hipster friend of mine with great taste recommended this kit I thought, "Thank God, my baby-gifting needs are taken care of for the foreseeable future". . . and it was so.

I have purchased not one, not two, but SEVEN of these kits over the last 18 months (geez people). The book is very wry, the bonus items clever and useful, what more do you want? Everyone gets a kick out of this thing. My penpal in Oshkosh, my DJ friend in San Francisco, it's a winner.

I gave this as baby shower gift to a close friend of mine. She absolutely loved it. She found it to be chock full of great information. She also said she rather enjoyed the layout, format and manner everything was presented.
Now, don't get me wrong, a newborn is NOT even comparable to anything technical or mechanical. Yet, this book presents good, solid information in a format more akin to simple assembly instructions (e.g. proper diaper application) or elementary computer familiarization (the auditory input unit = ear; simple enough?). This allows the information being given to be acquired more efficiently with better retention making learning more enjoyably.
"Baby Manual" is wonderful tongue & cheeky take on basic baby maintenance and care. I've given book to other expecting friends of mine who were also very pleased and entertained by this little gem. In a sea of overly complicated and emotionally driven infant care & advice books, this one is a humorously informative jaunt of a read during an exciting yet stressful time during one's life.

I bought this recently as a gift for my cousin-in-law. I have never seen or heard about it, but it looked like a fun little gift. She opened it and went through it, and I have to say, the contents of this box are amazing! It literally is a "How To" Manual for babies, and it has so many cute things inside! It was wonderful! It's now my "Go To" baby gift for any of my friends or family!

This book though cute in look an small a little pocket book guide like. Book was to simple and basic you dont need this book to obtain info you can get pamphelts and a book/booklet you usally get when leaving home from the hospital after giving birth.

My Nephew, a Navy Vet, loved it! Humorous and helpful all in one. He said, "A baby tech manual is just what he needed!"

This book is totally how my mind thinks. It's very reminiscent of the do's and don't with baby graphics that went viral a few years back, but it's not quite as funny.
In the midst of jokes there is actually some useful information in there that guys like me wouldn't even think to ask about, like how much water to put in the bathtub for an infant.

Got this as a gift for an ex girlfriend and my aunt. Both of them loved it. Said it had a lot of useful info, good sense of humor, and easy to understand.

A friend gave this to us as a bit of a gag gift, and although it is a humorous approach to your newborn, it is concise, informative and our go-to baby book! Definitely recommended. We like it so much that all of our pregnant friends are getting it from us!

This kit not only contains some pretty good information but it makes a lovely change for the couple opening gifts at a baby shower. Especially if the father is present, this is a gift for BOTH. Passed around, it makes people laugh. After baby comes the info is actually appreciated.

I bought this as a gift for my best friend when she and her husband were expecting their first baby. My friend liked it, but her husband LOVED it. He is an engineer-type, and they said this was one of the only baby books he actually wanted to read. (He found the "trouble-shooting" section funny yet useful.) The kit comes with a few cutesy items like a magnet and memo-pad, but the book is what they found really helpful. If you're looking for a unique and useful gift for parents-to-be, this is it!
