Poor Quality,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby Prodigy (DVD)
My three children like the music, but the quality is terrible. Not only does it give the feeling of being taped over one too many times, but the toys and props used also give it an old-timey feeling, which isn't pleasant. I had read such nice reviews and was really disapointed. There are a lot better dvd's to purchase than this one.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Baby Prodigy (DVD)
This is by far the worst baby DVD we ever bought. And it is the first time in three years that the advice of our fellow-Amazonians let us down. Four reviewers recommended this title, and I cannot understand at all why. Here is what's on this DVD: Very dark background, cheap and boring toys that don't do much, and THE worst pupeetering EVER! The duck puppet is handled from the side, not from underneath, and as a result you see this thing lying on its side all the time. All it can do is open and close its beak ... a far cry from the pupeetering of the Baby Einstein titles. The toys are shown in a strange kind of close-up, and the sequencing has no rhyme or reason to it whatsoever. Somebody just threw this together. There is an "educational" section in the middle: You see how ice melts in a frying. Here is the problem with this: My 16-month old does not get this BUT the scene right after this somewhat lame science experiement is a very boring snail toy that moves across the screen in slow motion, and my baby is bored by that. Which age group did they aim this at? 0-3? Don't make me laugh. The music is not good, either.... If I could have, I would have given this zero stars....

NOT Baby Einstein!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby Prodigy (DVD)
I purchased this video based on all the great Amazon reviews and the Parents Magazine Parents Choice Award title but I am very disappointed that I wasted my money on this soon to be dust collector. The quality is poor from all aspects. The colors are dark and they use terrible cloth backdrops, the film quality is amateur at best. The music and narrator are both annoying and the sound is awful. My six month old loves the Baby Einstein videos and watches everything with great intent but even she seemed bored by this video. The only good thing about the video are the basic concepts it attempts to teach, but it is not visually stimulating enough to hold a child's attention long enough to do so....

I got the Baby Prodigy parenting book as a gift with this DVD. My baby loves the music and loves Dookie Duck! I recommend it for everyone.

I just can't believe how my children love to watch Baby Prodigy over and over again. Great Job... It's become a must watch in our house hold on a daily basis.

The best dvd EVER!,

I received this as a shower gift for my first daughter. She began watching at 6 weeks old and has never tired of it. If she was grumpy, this would always calm her down. We have every DVD in the Baby Einstein collection, which she loves as well, but when she was grumpy, Baby Prodigy was the only thing that worked. She is now almost three and has a baby sister who is 10 months old and the same thing applies. When she's a big ole grouch the only thing that always works is a little QT with Baby Prodigy. Also, my sister had an extremely colicy baby and same goes for her too! We believe it's the miracle DVD and have recommended it to all our friends who have been extremely pleased as well. (Not intended for adults. I believe an adult would rather watch paint dry or jump off a bridge or something. :) But it's all about the kids, right?)

Wonderful video for your baby,
This review is from: Baby Prodigy (DVD)
We were given this as a gift when my baby was born. She absolutely loves it. She is 14 months old and still loves it. We recently purchased the Baby Pre-School DVD and just like we thought, she loves that too. I would recommend these videos to all new moms because not only are they entertaining but your baby will not take her eyes off it. I know there are many videos on the market and we have them all but this is by far the video that keeps my daughter's attention.
Thanks Baby Prodigy!

Awful,

Pay attention to the bad reviews here for all the details on poor quality, bad toys, awful music, etc. My baby was crying within the 1st minute of watching. Just to make sure it was the video and not a "mood" I put in my Baby Bach DVD from Baby Einstein and he watched the whole time. This is DVD is bad, bad, bad. Thank goodness I borrowed it from the library instead of paying any money! I think my child would have a better time watching paint dry.

WE LOVED IT. GREAT FOR COLIC BABIES TOO!,

My daughter has suffered from colic for months. My friend recommended this video as her daughter's favorite so I thought I'd give it a try. My baby has colic and screams for hours at a time! Not any more, when I put Baby Prodigy on, she stops! I can't believe it. This video has gotten my husband and I through many hard days and nights. Her eyes open wide and for 30 minutes she is focused on the video! I'm anxiously awaiting the new Baby Preschool Video!!!!!! She also loves your musical pacifier CD it really CALMS her down!

My daughter LOVED this DVD,

I think this is a great DVD for any child. My daughter just couldn't stop watching it. In fact, she's been watching it for over a year now. I have lots of DVDs but she won't watch them anymore since I bought her this one. I just bought the Baby Preschool DVD and she LOVES that too. She loves the shapes but especially loves dookie and dottie duck. Remember it's what your children think of the video that's important. Making them happy is something we all want to do!
