Not like the PBS TV show,

This review is from: Baby Sister (Caillou) (Board book)
This book was very disappointing. The characters and the storyline are very different from the usual TV show on PBS. Caillou misbehaves and although he is reprimanded, it could be confusing to a small child. I ended up skipping those pages when I read it to my daughter.

Not the kind of ideas I want to give my child.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby Sister (Caillou) (Board book)
In this book, Caillou models all kinds of acting-out behavior. Although it may be dealt with effectively, I feel it will put the wrong kinds of ideas in my child's head about behaviors. While the feelings Caillou tries to express are definitely valid and normal, I don't think I need to give her any ideas about biting or hitting.

A Wonderfully, Honest Book,
By
This review is from: Baby Sister (Caillou) (Board book)
My 2 year old son received this book as a "baby shower" gift while I was nearing the end of my pregnancy with my daughter. He really identifies with 4 year old Caillou and he loves the bright illustrations. I was concerned with the unacceptable ideas of biting the baby and hurting a doll, but my son actually received positive messages that biting and hurting someone else are not acceptable. I really like the loving parental response to typical anxiety about the arrival of a new baby. My son has never even attempted to hurt his baby sister, though I often hear him repeating "We can bite apples, but not the baby." I've purchased the book for all my friends who were expecting their second or third children. I also recommend Caillou's "Potty Time" and "Mealtime" books.
