4.0 out of 5 stars Just as advertised January 28, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I purchased this CD on the guidance of a book I read when preparing our dog for the arrival of our son. He was petrified of babies and young children. This CD was perfect to turn on to desensitize him to the baby's noises. It worked perfectly and he does not even blink and eye when the baby starts to cry. Very, very helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars realistic baby sounds September 29, 2013
By August
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I find it disgusting that some people opt to get rid of their "best" friend when they have a kid. Pets are for life.
Since I have a dog who will be almost 3 when the baby is born, I am doing my absolute best to prepare her. I also purchased the book "childproofing your dog" which had a lot of really good suggestions.
I put this CD in the player today and my dog was very curious, which she never is when I am playing music. After a while she lost interest. It is for this reason that I am giving this CD 5 stars. My baby is not here yet, and I do not have the opportunity to do a blind study of dogs listening to the CD vs. not listening to it, but I think anything that gets your pet more comfortable with the upcoming changes ahead of time is a good idea. The fact that she initially was perplexed made me wonder if her subsconscious recognized these as baby human noises coming from a machine, and the fact that after a while she ignored the noise makes me think she's gotten used to it. I plan to play this CD weekly and then starting a month before the baby is due play it even more often, so that the noises do not phase her or provoke curiosity at all. (I am sure the *baby* will make her curious, but there's only so much one can do!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to have helped our dogs... May 7, 2013

Has multiple tracks - good training for the parents too I suppose :) Initially caused a reaction from the dogs (especially the nursery track...) but now they don't seem to mind, just are curious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what it says May 24, 2010
By Karen Z
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
We have three dogs and are having our first child in October. The dogs aren't around kids very often, and almost never around babies, so I was thrilled to find a CD that has baby noises on it. I've only played it once (and I'm sure it's more effective with frequent playing), but the dogs reacted immediately, so I knew they were aware of new sounds. I'll try to remember to post an update once the baby's born - but so far, I'm very happy with the CD!

4.0 out of 5 stars decent baby sounds exposure August 24, 2010
Format:Audio CD
The sounds were a good mix of cooing, crying, and all-out screaming. It was a decent exposure for my little schnauzer who tends to bark a lot at random noises. I started out at a low volume and then steadily increased it. He took to it well, not really minding...then again, I think a lot of dogs know the difference between a real baby making sounds in person rather than a recording. I plan on carrying around a doll too to show that we will be showing affection to a baby soon...

Sure helped in getting a number of GSD puppies acclimated to baby sounds. Would like to have a couple more disks with more variety of sounds.

The product is as is advertised, but unless you have a high strung dog, that is no good in new situations. I question its need. My wife however loved it. Read more
