5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless November 29, 1998
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I grew up listening to this and other Glen Yarborough songs, and find myself missing Glen's albums in my musical library. (My parents won't let me take their LPs)
When you buy this album, I guarentee you will find yourself humming the tunes or singing along.
It's a timeless compilation.

A thoroughly enjoyable CD. This is a rare combination of songs with a voice that grabs your heart. I listen to this recording more than I do all the others I have in my library. A rare jewel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bit o'honey voice September 1, 2005
By CMA
Format:Audio CD
The title song of this early album has become Glenn Yarbrough's trademark and, in my opinion, no one else does it better. The album forms a solid base for his later recordings and leaves a person wanting more.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of best tenors ever!..+ an unlisted song December 16, 2007
Format:Audio CD
This is a must have for any Glenn Yarbrough fan. ( I might say it's my favorite). Besides what has become his theme song for his concerts " Baby the Rain Must Fall", there are many songs on this CD which will touch your heart strings & memory.
Glenn's voice is clear and strong. I think it's a great collection. If you listen with good headphones you'll be either humming along, tappin' your toe or reminising in your mind. Songs like "Rusting in the Rain" will keep you enthralled by his unique voice. "Everybody's Rich But Us" ..you'll be a smilin'! He's getting up in years, when he's gone the world will have lost a great one. ENJOY!
(**PS..there's actually 12 songs [at least on my copy].. an extra song not listed on cd titled "Walk On Little Boy" is right before "Billy Goat Hill" which is actually #12 ..I guess Record Co. must have missed listing it?)

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a Fan July 2, 2007
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I've been a fan of Glenn Yarborough ever since this particular album first came out. My husband and I had the LP - and fought over it in the divorce. Glenn can sing the alphabet and make it sound sexy and warm and delicious.

4.0 out of 5 stars Honest, empathetic review of life January 10, 1999
Format:Audio CD
Yarbrough's depth of emotion, melody and tone refelect the best in American folk melody of his time.
Whether you agree with his message or dislike the themes, you must admit that his sincerity is genuine.
Listen to the sublties of the lyrics, the unassuming quality of the song....

Simply put, Glen Yarbrough is excellent. I listened to his music as a child and still like it today. This album had just the songs I was looking for. The CD arrived in a few days after ordering and in good condition.

Glenn's voice is classic. Wish that more were available and that he was still writing and recording for another generation.

No one can sing Rod McKuen's stuff like Glenn Yarbrough. He too has one of those voices that pull you into the songs.
