5.0 out of 5 stars Best deal for the price!, May 14, 2009
By
This review is from: Baby Trend Double Sit N Stand Stroller, Skylar (Baby Product)
After months of reading reviews and wading through all of our stroller options... we picked this one for its features, style, great price! We have a tall 2.5 year old boy (36 lbs) and a 1.5 year old girl (29 lbs). Our old stroller was a bus and didn't have some of the features I wanted like cup holders for mom and dad! So we sold it at a yardsale and upgraded! This stroller steers like a dream with my toddlers totaling 65 lbs plus my purse/diaper bag. The pros: TWO parent cupholders that hold our water bottles great. Snack trays for BOTH seats (other strollers only have one), the easy swing away feature of the tray to get the kids in and out. This is much better than the "clip" on kind that had me dropping the tray and fumbling for it while trying to get my kid in the stroller! The material seems easy to clean, though we haven't had any major spills yet. My 2.5 year old son LOVES the sit and stand feature. This is wonderful for trips to the zoo, etc. when he wants to sit some times and get up to look sometimes. The jumpseat/backseat is easy to remove after you've done it a time or two. I didn't even have to read the directions to figure it out. When we're in the store and he wants to use the bench instead of the full seat, it's an easy transition and I store the seat in the basket below. There is plenty of room in the backseat for my 2.5 year old and his long legs. In the earlier model of this stroller people complained of their kids' feet hanging into the basket below, but they raised the seat and the foot rest so this isn't an issue so much anymore. The cons: The storage basket isn't as large as other models, nor is it super accessible, but we were willing to compromise there. The canopies aren't as protective as we'd prefer, but again, a small compromise. I wish the seat backs were a little taller for my kids' heads when they're sleeping. They're tall and the seat back doesn't come to the top of their head. The backseat doesn't ever sit fully upright even when adjusted as much as I can. And they don't recline a lot... enough for napping, but not total reclined comfort. Finally, it doesn't fold as compactly as the earlier model of this stroller did, but that could be due to the raised backseat and the extra child tray.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great double stroller!, August 21, 2009

This review is from: Baby Trend Double Sit N Stand Stroller, Skylar (Baby Product)
SO, after much deliberation, I chose the Baby Trend Sit N Stand Double. and I love it! I chose this model as opposed to the Baby Trend Sit N Stand PLUS Double (the one at Target and Babies R Us online) since I think this one is more updated. (they should really have named the two models more uniquely since it is difficult to tell which model is which, like i think the[...] one in everest just says Double, not Plus, which is what it is).
The biggest thing for me is the fact that you can put the car seat in EITHER seat, as opposed to just the front on the other model. That was a huge plus for me since I think I would rather have the baby in the car seat in the back so he is closer to me, and my toddler up front where he can see better. It also has a child tray for BOTH seats as opposed to just the front seat (which didnt make much sense since that is the only place where the younger baby can go on the Plus model).
It was mostly already together which was nice. I just had to click on the wheels, snack trays, and the front canopy. Other than that, it was all assembled. It took me MAYBE 5 minutes, and I am 9 months pregnant!
It folds open and closed easily and is actually not that much larger than my Graco single stroller (in terms of size, but it is quite a bit heavier, although still manageable). Oh, and unlike the other review, you do NOT have to remove the front canopy to fold it. Not sure why she has to, but it folds fine with it on.
The rear seat came out VERY easily to convert to the sit N stand and when it's out, it isn't too large, so it would be easy to store in the car without taking up much space.
My son who is 18mos fits well in both seats, but is obviously not old enough the use the sit N stand function yet. i think it says 2.5 years. Because there isnt a back rest, they have to be old enough to have good balance on just a platform. I knew that already though, I purchased this one because I knew he would need a real seat for another year.
The front seat only has 2 recline positions, straight up, and slightly reclined. The rear seat has the adjuster where you pull the cord and you stop it where ever you like. Neither seat lays down very far but that's not a big deal to me. The rear seat reclines enough where my toddler could sleep just fine.
The basket is under where the older child has his feet, but my son is NO WHERE near close to the basket. So it doesn't seem like an issue to me. I am just glad there is even a basket! It also has a lower back to it so you can access the contents from the back of the stroller, which is nice.
In terms of maneuverability, I think it does fabulously! It steers very easily, is smooth riding, and turns quite well. I took it for a spin around my dining room and it did surprisingly well. I really don't see much of a difference from my single stroller. So that's good.
The Skylar pattern is very nice. The blue isn't solid, is has a little pattern to it. The brown is nice too.
So far, there isn't anything I don't like about this stroller! It's a great option at a great price, and I love that it will grow with our family! Wonderful purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice double stroller, April 19, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Baby Trend Double Sit N Stand Stroller, Skylar (Baby Product)
This stroller has exactly what we were looking for, the ability to have a infant carrier in either seat and also haul around a 2 year old. We were looking at the other Sit N Stand strollers and really liked that the rear seat can be removed, but were wishing for the added ability to put the infant seat in the back and the 2 year old up front.

Assembly was very easy, just add the wheels and trays. We go on an approximate 3 mile walk every day and the stroller pushes well. The wheels are big enough to go on the sidewalk and take small bumps.

So far, we couldn't ask for more.
