Although this item does not take long to put together, a couple of design features are rather cumbersome. For instance, the play yard mat has velcro strips that you have to feed through the bottom of the nursery center, which for a pregnant lady is difficult because you can't easily bend over the sides of the play yard, nor spend a lot of time laying on the ground trying to feel up through the play yard for the strips. Everything snaps on piece by piece, so whenever you want to move the play yard from one location to another (say, to grandma's house), you have to deconstruct and reconstruct the nursery center. It's not easily packable, but if you're planning on setting it up and hardly ever taking it elsewhere, I think it's a very good, functional product for the price. It offers more than a lot of other items in its class, such as a changing table, organizing compartments, the bassinet, and the play yard itself. Unfortunately the floor of the play yard is pretty hard, not very cushioned, but I suspect putting blankets or something down to soften the floor would fix that concern.

About Baby Trend's customer service. It is highly important that you don't waste time trying to call them! The music box that comes with the nursery center arrived damaged (no fault of Baby Trend I don't think), and I wasted 45 minutes on hold for their customer service department, only to be hung up on. I called back a few days later, and hung up on them after about 20 minutes of waiting on hold. I decided then to just go to their website and submit a customer service claim online. SO EASY! I received an email response the next day saying they would ship a brand new music box free of charge, and to not worry about having to return the old one. Sure enough, I received the music box via fedex about a week later.

This is a great play yard with a sturdy bassinet. My 1 week old son seems very comfortable in the bassinet and the entire thing is sturdy enough for my comfort level! I love the idea of the changing table attachment, but it tilts inward so my baby slides or rolls when trying to change him...we don't even use the changing station because of this! It was easy to assemble and easy to break down. I would suggest it to a friend with the only caution being the changing station.

This was a beautiful play yard. The only thing is that we were expecting to get the color shown on the advertisement (Blue with black & gray). Instead we received a greenish-blue color, almost like a teal but not as bright. I posted my own pictures so people can see what they will really get. In certain lightings the play yard is blue and black, but in reality it's tealish with chocolate brown. It is easy to set up and easy to wheel around the house as well. The canopy part is a little hard to fold up and down. All of the music is cute, but the volume control disappointed me. The lowest setting in the volume control is actually still pretty loud, so I don't even use the higher volume...you would need to have some serious hearing issues if you need to turn the volume on this play yard up past the lowest setting. The vibration feature needs some work, you can't feel the vibration as well unless the vibrating base is positioned close to the baby. The music, vibration, and control buttons runs off a base that hooks onto the play yard. The changing table works well, flips away for storage, but isn't leveled. When I change my son he starts to slide to one side, so that part needs to change. It has an MP3 input, which is cool but I haven't tried it out yet. It has a pretty big side pocket for extra storage, a place store diapers, wipes, and two more pockets for whatever else. We decided to keep the play yard because it still looks nice and sophisticated, our needs are met when it came to keeping our baby safe when we need a break from holding him or to get something done, besides that we live overseas so it would cost way too much to ship it back. When I called Amazon about the issues, they handled my complaint very well and refunded us a discount for the confusion about the product.

This playard was everything I hoped for. Assembly is very simple. I was 36 weeks pregnant when I put this together and it was easy. I do have to say it is kinda bulky and taking it down is not so easy. My daughter loves taking her naps in this thing. The volume is loud even at its lowest setting, so I just use the mp3 input. However, I do love all the settings it has including the vibrate button. The changing table works great and although its kinda slanted. There is a safety belt for the infant to stay put. I love this item and so does my daughter.

I purchased this for my baby on the way. I put it together all by myself at 8 months pregnant in about 30 minutes, as long as you follow the directions it's very easy to figure out. The color is lovely, it isn't true to the manufacturer pics but the pics that a customer posted here are spot on, thank goodness because that's the color I was hoping for : ) It seems very sturdy, I haven't had my baby yet, but I have had 3 other playards in the past for my other kids, and this one seems the best so far. The diaper caddy deal goes on easily and stays on, even though I have it full of items. The only 2 problems I had/have with this playard is that one of the snaps that you connect the changing table to was missing from the side. I went to the store and bought a replacement which my husband put on in about 2 minutes, I just didn't want to deal with the hassle of packing it all back up and returning it for something that was so easily fixed. Also, my ipod doesn't stay plugged in to the music box unless I fiddle with the plug a little, I don't know if a different plug would do the same thing or what. Otherwise excellent product.

I just love this play yard!!! Especially the fact that the changing table flips over. It also has plenty of storage for wipes & diapers & all kinds of things.
It looks very sturdy & reliable. It took us 15 minutes to put it together.

we bought this playard for my little brother. it came promptly and very neatly packaged. it was quick to assemble and it works wonderfully. i would recommend this to anybody looking for a playard.

It works but not the color I would like. Was easy to set up and take apart it is more mobile if you don't take all the extra pieces with you, mine is going to replace a big bulky crib

I am really enjoying this playpen! The best feature is the changing table - when you're done with it, it flips away completely and hangs off of the side of the playpen. With other brands, you have to lift the changing table off and detach it, then find a place to put it.

I have disassembled and reassembled this unit a few times while traveling, and so far, it has held up. The only weakness that I'm finding is the plastic parts that hold the changing table on - I'm worried that the plastic parts may snap when removing them.

The three little bears don't do enough to keep my baby entertained - we used some of those plastic link rings to hang more toys off of the canopy, and she loves it!

The colors of this playpen are really nice - nothing too flashy or eye-catching, so it won't look like a huge eyesore in your living room.

Carter's play yard sheets fit this well. I used their pink/blue/purple butterfly print sheet, and that made this look just girly enough.

After reviewing playards and bassinets online and then checking them out in stores, I settled on the Baby Trend deluxe playard for its firm mat. Other playards have high quality materials and are solidly built, but this is the only one I found with a firm mat. Other mats I looked at sagged or were mushy, but the back on this mat is made of fiberboard or some other similar material. While that meant the mat would be less cushy than others, it also meant to me that it would be safer than others.

Having owned the product for almost a year now, I can say the construction is durable and the materials are quality. I will note, however, that if you want a sound box or a light box, you should pass on this item or purchase one separately - the one included is pretty cheesy.
