Baby Girl,

Baby Girl takes readers into the life of seventeen year old Kyla Brown. Her grandmother and aunts instilled in her how pretty she was and she also learned how to manipulate and seduce men at an early age.Kyla loves attention and takes every opportunity she could to increase her popularity. She feels that the world revolves around her.
She then meets a young drug kingpin by the name of Shard Phaylon.Kyla soon becomes obsessed with having Shard and is determined to have him.Shard pays Kyla no attention being that he knows what she's about.Instead of listening to her gold digging family, Kyla chooses her own path and goes after Shard.Kyla will do whatever she has to do to make Shard happy so when he ask Kyla for a favor she quickly complies but realizes that she isnt the ride or die chick she thought she was.Kyla reaches her breaking point and loses her sanity and it pushes her over the edge. Baby Girl was quick and well written. My only gripe were the chapters being excessively long. The book has a total of 10 chapters with 265 pages.Other than that it was a pretty good read. I orignally purchased this book because a friend of mines know's Shavon personally. My girl called me cause she knows I be staying at some book site spending my pay check.Any way I got this book a day after I got nine other books not to mention my stack of tbr books.Any way the front cover kept calling my name and alas I had to answer the call.Shavon did her thing on this one and needless to say you won't soon forget those money hungry brown women. Her grandmother advice on life sometimes had me laughing thinking is their really someone out their that raise our young women to think like this? Any way this is a good read and well worth the money. So go buy this one here and thank tcp for for reconizes talent and welcoming this shinning new star to the fam.

oh my god this book was the most boring book i have read in a while. i dont know if it was because the main character was so stupid or because the book didnt have a climax or a resolution, it just stayd in the same boring spot throughout the whole story.
the main character had no strength and was too dumb for me. i couldnt believe how she let her so called man manipulate her and make her look like a fool to everyone around her. please if you are a person that can not tolerate the lack of brains and common sense that all girls should have when dealing with men this book definetly is not for you.

Wow is all i can say because i finished this book in five hours. Thats how good it was I fell in love with Shard because he was so different than the usual boyfreands. He is that complex soul that is not sweating the beauty queen. This books is so good and I will not allow anyone to borrow it. I am upset that I did not buy part two but tommorow is another day and another way for borders to get my money lol... I hope part two holds up because this is a hard act to follow.. I truly undrstand what Khalya is going through with the dangers love, and the author gave you a real experience...

BABY GIRL,

Well it started out as the Brown Women, were the flyest chicks in town. So what happened. Kyla, had a crush on Shard and couldnt for the sake of her life get this man interested in her. Once baby girl did get his attention, it seems like it was downhill from there. Baby girl abandon her family for Shard, a guy who I feel was doing nothing but using her. He slept with her aunt and any other chick that he wanted to sleep with. Shard belittled littled baby girl and made it seem like everything that was wrong in their relationship was her fault. (and she fell for it) now having set slide up, and not know that Shard was going to kill slide, Baby girl has really went off the deep end. She really needs medical help. But at the end Shard tried to teach Kyla the hard way to forget about the killing. But it didnt work out that way. The only thing I can say is Im waiting to see how the end really ends in book 2..

I am about 4 chapters into this book. Being that I am from the St Louis Metro area. I am disappointed. I don't feel like this book is based in the Lou. First off, there are many high schools in St Louis. I don't know of any call Stl High. that is bunk. Also, everybody knows that the East St Louis High School is famously called East Side High. Was there any research done before this book was written.

This is a book that will definately make you think twice about what you ask for. Kyla asked for Shard and when she got him I know she regretted it or she should have at least. This book is sooooo good and makes you feel that you know the characters and makes you feel like you have a front row seat to the show. Loved it!!!

Excellent Story,
This review is from: Baby Girl (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
I ordered this book because I had heard such great things about it from my reader-friends. I must say that I was not disappointed. Baby Girl was truly a terrific read! I believe that it is important for young ladies to see Kyla Brown's naivety, as it will give them an extreme example of what not to do (i.e. losing oneself in the love of a man) as a young woman. The story is very well-written, and this new author has a lot of talent. Without spoiling the plot for any potential readers, I will just say that I enjoyed this book immensely, and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Kudos!
