a very nice surprise, October 7, 2007
This review is from: Baby Twins: Parents Needed (Harlequin Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Let me begin by saying that I don't like babies.
OK, so I have two of my own and I love them to pieces. What I mean is that when I pick up a romance novel, I want to escape, and taking care of two squalling newborns isn't my idea of a sexy time. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by Teresa Carpenter's Baby Twins: Parents Needed.
Not only was this book beautifully written, heartfelt and sweet, it was also plenty sexy. Rachel Adams has been named guardian of ten-month old twins Cody and Jolie. She's doing the best she can when hunky Navy SEAL Ford Sullivan, the twins' co-guardian, shows up and says he can do better.
Ha!
As a new mother, I found the scenes with the babies not just cute, but realistic. As a woman, I found Ford Sullivan to be H-O-T hot. He's the perfect combination of strength and sensitivity, and I was both amused and satisfied when he got his comeuppance. Taking care of two babies is like having TWO fulltime jobs, he discovers, and teams up with Rachel with an adjusted attitude.
Rachel is also a modern, well-drawn character, not too sweet to think some naughty thoughts about Ford. If he wasn't trying to take the twins away from her, she'd have an affair with him in a heartbeat.
When Rachel and Ford get snowed in, things really heat up...
Great job, Teresa Carpenter! Baby Twins: Parents Needed is perfectly executed, lovely and warm and wonderfully tender.

This was the first Teresa Carpenter book I read. It is a good book to pass the time with. It would just be a book I would read only once.

Baby Twins: Parents Needed, January 10, 2012

She's left to cope with twins. Rachel Adam's independent life is turned upside down when she is named guardian to two orphaned twins. It's hard to be a mom to two demanding babies but in no time they steal her heart. When gorgeous co-guardian Ford Sullivan turns up he starts to take charge. Rachel realizes it's best if she and Ford work togather. But being this close to Ford makes Rachel wonder whether stand-in mom and dad could become forever bride and groom.
