We moved to a new house with train tracks nearby. It was difficult for us to adjust to sleeping through the horns and sounds and someone suggested that we use a white noise machine. Many local discount stores didn't carry them and I wasn't willing to spend a ton of money on this. After looking online for white noise machines, many reviews were discouraging. Only two settings, not a pleasant sound, stopped working. I found this CD and it was perfect. I bought a $20 boombox with a repeat feature and set it up every night on the one that my kids like best (fan). I can adjust the volume to the right level (which happens to be different for each of my kids). So if you are contemplating getting a white noise machine to create background noise for your baby (or anyone), go with a CD boombox and this CD.

The tracks on this CD work well for soothing our baby during diaper changes and when we put him to sleep. Find a sound your baby likes and put it on repeat.

My 5 month old was having a hard time sleeping through the night. I wasn't sure what baby white noise would work the best on her, so I decided on this sampler CD. And WOW!!! The first night she went to sleep easier and slept until 7 the next morning, and we have only had a couple of nights that she has woken up since the CD came, and she goes right back to sleep! She prefers track 7, and we have a CD player that repeats, so I just set it to repeat track 7 (womb like sounds) all night. BONUS: We hear it through the monitor and it helps mommy and daddy sleep too!!!

My daughter doesn't like to be set down. She always likes to be carried. So as soon as I put her down in her bassinet, she starts crying. Once I turn on the CD for her, she calms down and sometimes even starts to fall asleep. I definitely recommend this CD...

This CD worked wonderfully for helping our baby to sleep better. I like the variety of tracks because it let me experiment to see which sounds worked best for our child. I usually choose one track and then let it repeat for the whole nap/night. The tracks are 10 min. long and fade in/out so that the transition from track to track or from repeat to repeat does not disturb the baby. The tracks are well-chosen sounds: vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, hair dryer, running water, clothes dryer, electric fan, and white noise (the white noise track is 15 min. long).

We live in a small house and our baby was soooo fussy/colicky. This was great to help her sleep. We even took it with us when we travelled.

I was able to pick which "white" noise I liked and repeat it... my son sleeps so much better with it!!!

i didn't want another machine in my daughters nursery but kept hearing about this white noise to help her fall asleep....when i found the cd's online i decided to give it a go....4 months later she is still falling asleep to the same cd.....personally it drives me nuts.....but hey she sleeps through the night and that's all i care about....
