4.0 out of 5 stars A space saving alternative to the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair
Deciding between the Baby Bjorn Smart Potty and the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair for my 10 month old boy whose weight is at 75th percentile, I went to a store to compare the two products. Major findings:

1. The seat size is the same - the removable inner potty is the same on both models.

2. The seat on the Smart Potty is lower. Pros - harder to...

3.0 out of 5 stars does the job, but I wouldn't buy it again
When I was potty training my daughter I got the Prince Lionheart ( I think that is what it is called) and ordered this for a second potty cause it was less expensive. I wish I would have just got another of the other kind. Babyborn potty is so low to the ground even for a barely 2 yr old! And it isn't very stable. She can sit on it and tip it over. The other has a...

4.0 out of 5 stars A space saving alternative to the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair, May 13, 2010

Pros - harder to topple. Cons - if the child is taller the sitting position may be more like squatting.

At the store my boy sat on the Potty Chair and decided to reach for something and toppled the Potty Chair. The Smart Potty seems harder to topple, though not impossible. In the end I purchased the Smart Potty. It takes up little space in the bathroom and cabinet. My kid is in the first week of potty training and hasn't had a "mission accomplished" yet, but with a toy in his hands he seems fine sitting on the potty for 5 minutes.

Love, love, love this potty chair. It is perfect for travel. We take it with us shopping in a bag everywhere we go. I love that it has a removable bowl, just like the bigger Baby Bjorn potties we use at home. And more than that, I love that it has non-skid base (unlike Baby Bjorn's "Little Potty"), so my daughter can't scoot around all over the floor in the public restroom on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Seat, October 4, 2010

My daughter, 20 months, has been using this potty regularly for 2 months. It has been great and she loves it! The rubber around the bottom really does secure it to the floor and it is super easy to clean. No funny parts or crevices to get dirty.
She is of average size and this potty fits her quite well. I originally got this one because I wanted to teach her to sit on in while she was still quite small (14 months). But she has not out grown it at all and we won't need to get another one before she moves up to the big potty (with a ring). She enjoys it so much that sometimes she will sit on it to read books during naked time. The splash gaurd/hump in front does not bother her at all; she has learned to get on and off of it gracefully. I am planning to use it as a travel potty once she graduates to using the big potty/ring at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple yet perfect potty!, March 31, 2011

After trying two other more expensive potty chairs for my son Nathan, I saw this one and thought I'd give it a try...and I loved it!
I started out with A Safety First potty chair and then a Graco one...both had soft cushy seats and numerous parts. Being a boy, Nathan "sprayed" a lot more than I thought and pee would find it's way into every crevice. Each time I dumped the pot, pee would drip from under cushions, down the back or onto the floor and I'd have to wipe the whole thing down...yuck!
I love the simple design of the BabyBjorn. It's one solid "pee pot" with a high splash guard that does not cause injuries to little boy parts when sitting down. The solid piece also keeps everything contained and it is easy to lift, dump and clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Kid-Friendly, November 27, 2010
We used this potty to train our 26 month old. I love that it is smaller than some of the other ones on the market. We started with a bigger one that had a lid but it was so big that our daughter could pull her legs up and almost sit Indian style on it. This is close enough to the ground so that she can keep her feet on the ground and there is no where for her to "scoot around" once she sits down. It is also MUCH easier to dispose of once they use the restroom - you don't have to open a lid or pull out a drawer. We actually have her pick it up herself and take it to the big potty to throw away. There is also a small rubber area on the edge that prevents them from scooting around on the floor. We used it in conjunction with the "Toilet Training in a Day" book and it works great!! I will recommend this to all of my friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute!, April 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was torn between this potty and the step down, the one without the pull out insert for emptying into the potty. I'm glad I went with this one because its small so I can't imagine how tiny the other one would have been. We knew we wanted to go with the BabyBjorn brand but we dont have alot of room in our bathroom so didn't want to get the full sized one. I also don't want him sitting on it for hours playing instead of pottying which is what its for. Like other reviews say there's no back just a little lip, comfy enough but not "sit back, relax, and watch some toons" comfy. Insert lifts out and is easy to clean, the lip up front isn't too high so my little boy has no problems getting on or off it, and its small and compact so it'll work well when you don't have much room or don't want a big "sing to me" potty in your bathroom.

4.0 out of 5 stars great cheap and simple product - it's all you need, February 26, 2011

The bowl removes for easy clean-up, and the base is rubberized to prevent slipping. It has worked great. There really is no need for all the bells and whistles available on so many potties.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great small potty., December 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this for my 13 month old boy. Its the only potty I have, but I did shop a lot for this type of product, and I am very satisfied with the construction and durability of the product. It is easy for a child to remove the inner potty, but I think that is okay because we are teaching our son to flush. We have not had a problem with needing a different style of splash guard - this one works well. I do think that it is small... our son is tall for his age and I wonder if he will be comfortable on it at age 2. It is a good beginning potty, and I think its a good price, too.

Nice and easy no leaking like a Disney Cars potty chair we also bought elsewhere. Perfect height guard on front for a 2.5 year old boy. Fabulous product!

We love this potty. It is smaller than some potties (which is good for my smaller than average 18 mo old. Also I like that it is simple. I don't need lights/music/friends... the real potty doesn't have them - so why have them on this?! I loved this.
