Comparison with regular joey's and with thirsties hemp inserts,

These are fabulous. We did an absorbency test on all three (all size small). The thirsties hemp insert took 3 oz before leaking. The regular joey took 5oz. This is a DOUBLE insert, i.e. two attached ones, but very thin, only slightly thicker combined, than the single regular joey. This insert took about 9(!!!!)oz before leaking!!! It was the clear winner. Highly recommended!!!

the one thing that is GREAT about these Premium version is that you get 2 inserts attached at the top. (PS= They are only attached by a little bit of sewing that can easily be undone with scissors without damaging the insert in any way, in case you want to separate them to get 6 inserts instead of 3 doubles) The fact that the 2 inserts are not attached all around really helps with quicker drying time, i can actually line dry them overnight inside my garage in Southern California. These are very absorbent, in my experience they do absorb much better than microfleece and better than pure cotton inserts. I put the large double premium babykicks inside a size 2 kissaluvs with a size medium pull on nylon Dappi pant and my 23 lbs 1 year old can go 3.5 hours without a problem. We've never had a leak whether he's napping or out and about playing. I really do not miss disposables at all.But when I first started cloth diapering I was using microfleece inserts than were passed down to me and they were pretty bulky and did not hold as much pee. When very wet, the microfleece would bunch up between my baby's legs. The hemp inserts are firmer and do not bunch up (I have a boy so I make sure I place the insert very high on the front almost sticking out of the diaper a tiny bit towards his belly button. The kissaluvs snaps keep the insert in place really well. For poops, bumkins flushable liners have been a life saver. These inserts do need to be washed several times before they become absorbent (lots of natural oils in the hemp fibers prevent absorption at first.) I boiled mine for 10 minutes and then washed in very hot cycle 3 times (drying them in between) and they have been great ever since.

The microfiber inserts in my pocket diapers were loosing their fluff, leaking, and starting to get stinky at times. I wanted an insert that would be very trim while still being very absorbent. As my daughter gets bigger, she was seeming to need more absorbency and simply adding a booster made for a very bulky diaper. I love these inserts, and am about to buy enough to use them exclusively. I use them in fuzzibunz perfect fit(medium), fuzzibunz one-size and bumgenius pocket diapers(on the second rise setting). I bought size large and once washed they shrunk down to the perfect length for these diapers. They prevent leaks and make a very trim diaper.

Super Trim & Super Absorbent,

I've been using the JoeyBunz for over a year now, but I just recently started using the Premiums. They are great! I love that they have the layers split because it really cuts down on drying time, but they are still extremely absorbent. They are just as trim as the original joeybunz, but the fleece is definitely softer. Only need one for each diaper and don't have to worry about leaks. Plus, they fit in ALL my covers, pockets, and fitteds. These are a must have in everyone's diaper stash.

These inserts are MUCH trimmer than microfiber. I have been slowly replacing all of my fuzzibunz inserts with the babykicks. I like the original Babykicks inserts better than the premium though. The drying time is reduced with the premium but it makes them harder to stuff and sometimes they move around more in the pocket.

Great For Boys Who Pee A Lot,

I LOVE these inserts. I am using Happy Heiny's pocket diapers and bought these inserts almost immediately to replace the microfiber inserts the Happy Heiny's came with. As most of the other reviews have explained, these inserts are divided into two pieces that are attached at the top. My son is a super soaker and these work great because I can customize the absorbency to his needs. I fold one of the layers in half and then stuff it into my pocket diaper with the bulk up front. Doing it this way I end up with 6 layers of hemp fleece right where he needs it. We have never had a leak and he is a happy boy.

These inserts work GREAT with the fuzzibunz size mediums, or any other pocket diaper that you need that extra absorbency. They work great for night time diapering, just pair it with a microfiber insert (microfiber in the pocket towards the baby) so the microfiber will wick away moisture to the hemp insert (hemp doesn't wick nearly as well. GREAT solution for a great price. If I was restarting my cloth stash, I'd have way more of these!

I bought these to go with my fuzzibunz onesize diapers. They turned out to be a too big. I read some other reviews that said they would shrink, not even close. after I re-sewed them I decided to use them as 1 pieces, (they come sewed together as two pieces sewn together at one end so they can be dried easier). I use just one half of the set and stuff it into the diapers along with the fuzzibunz insert. they absorb really well. I should have bought the mediums. I Love the way they work and the shaped design is nice.

These inserts work awesome by themselves. I've only had them leak when I used diaper cream, but stripping them fixed them back to being super absorbant. After they have been washed about 20 times they do get much trimmer, I was disappointed when I first used them because they seemed almost as bulky as my BumGenius microfiber inserts, but now after so much washing they are definitely super trim.

Based upon the reviews I chose the Joey Bunz Premium inserts and I am happy I did. Following suggestions to boil and then wash, these were overwhelmingly absorbant upon the first use. I have had excellent luck (No Leaks!) using them for overnight with a prefold diaper and a Thirsties wrap on a now 14 month old. I am very happy with their performance and the speed at which they line dry. I tried a lot of different options for overnight and I like these the best!
