5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!
Love these they are so absorbent on my daughter and super soft. they do tend to pill over time, but I never cared about that really I bought them to absorb and thats what they do. they are thick, but not so much that they cause that bubble butt effect. I use these at night and have not had a leak yet, YEAH!!!!!! I have used all kinds of cloth diapers on my 6 children,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Absorbent, but don't use Snappi fasteners!
These are nice and absorbent, BUT the Snappi fasteners, shown in the photo, do not work once you have washed the diapers a few times. Well, not without trying over and over again. This is hard to do with a squirming baby that wants to put her hands near those sharp things!

update: I ordered safety pins and they don't penetrate the material without pushing so...

A Kid's Review
Love these they are so absorbent on my daughter and super soft. they do tend to pill over time, but I never cared about that really I bought them to absorb and thats what they do. they are thick, but not so much that they cause that bubble butt effect. I use these at night and have not had a leak yet, YEAH!!!!!! I have used all kinds of cloth diapers on my 6 children, AIOs, fitteds, prefolds, you name it I've tried it and these are my favorite. They have no waterproofing on them so they dry quickly in the dryer or on the line, they wash very well and would definately be able to be used on 2 or more children if cared for properly. One size of these will last a longer period of time on your little one, unlike the ones with elastic and velcro. In fact my daughter is now a skinny 21 months and 23lbs and we just started using the size mediums.
The only thing I did not like was of course the price, but I guess you get what you pay for and these are quality diapers. Save your money people and just start with these prefolds you'll be glad you did. LOVE THEM MORE ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Around the house, May 12, 2009

This review is from: BabyKicks 3 Pack Prefold Diaper, Medium (Baby Product)
It was hard to convince my husband to try reusable diapers. These are the first diapers we have tried and he was impressed. I guess he assumed they would be tough to clean and the baby would make a mess all over the place. I liked them too, but I'm waiting to see what other types are like. These diapers hold urine and poop :) well though they do require a diaper cover. They are also bulky but we only use them round the house so it isn't a big deal to us. It's amazing how much money parents can save with reusable diapers and they have been updated so much from the past that they aren't terrible like we have been lead to believe. The picture however is a little misleading. I thought they came with the snappi's too. They didn't. I should have read better. I ordered them later but using baby pins works just as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars great diaper for cooler weather, April 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: BabyKicks 3 Pack Prefold Diaper, Medium (Baby Product)
I bought a 3-pack of these to try out and so far (after about 6 uses each) I am pleased with them. Compared to regular flat diapers (Chinese or Indian pre-folds)these are much more absorbent and I am using them without a liner with my 4-mo-old daughter who is a heavy/frequent wetter. They do soak through, but the diaper covers don't get wet. They wash up nicely and dry quickly considering the density of the material. (I boiled mine to prepare them for first use, rather than washing 6 times, as some companies recommend, to get the natural hemp oils out.) I also like that these diapers are trim fitting, even with a cover, and can go under regular clothes without distorting the baby's shape like some fitted diapers do. I am only giving them 4 stars out of 5 because I have yet to find the *perfect* diapering solution. I'm not sure for how long the snappi will hold on this material, though it seems ok so far. My main concern is that I think these diapers will be too hot/ not breathable enough during hotter weather. For cool days they work great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Absorbent, but don't use Snappi fasteners!, May 25, 2010

update: I ordered safety pins and they don't penetrate the material without pushing so hard that I may possibly stab my child. I now only use these in a pinch, I use BumGenuis mostly and other prefolds instead. I use these to lay on the ground when I want to give her some naked time.

4.0 out of 5 stars good supplemental diaper, February 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

These flats are super absorbant, and do the job. I prefer not to use them in the traditional manner, however, because baby still feels the wetness against her skin and because they aren't quite as receptive to the Snappi as a cotton diaper. They are a little bit stiffer than cotton, and therefore a bit bulkier... so I like to stuff them into a pocket diaper or into a diaper sock before I place it in the diaper cover. This allows you to use the product for its absorbancy without compromising comfort and convenience. Good for night time as long as you have some kind of layer between the hemp and the baby that wicks away the wetness from her skin. Otherwise, you may find yourself changing the diaper simply because the baby feels uncomfortable, even though it still isn't leaking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Absorbent!, November 25, 2009

I haven't found a flat/prefold diaper that is more absorbent than these. I used them when my little one was first born, and now that he's grown out of them I use them as stuffers in my pocket dipes. 1 of these with a joeybunz keeps my little one from leaking all night. I actually get a better fit with the hemp than with DSQ diapers, both chinese & indian. And, the DSQ's always leak. The hemp prefolds are by far the most absorbent, and that's what they're made for, right?!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice diapers, but not sure they're worth the price, November 19, 2009

These are a nice, basic prefold diaper. The hemp material makes them more expensive, and is also (presumably) more antibacterial. They are heavier than cotton prefolds, and get REALLY heavy when wet. They also each have a tag sewn on to the edge, which seems like it would be scratchy when used on a baby bottom. I carefully cut it off each one.

I used these as diapers a couple times (with Thirsties covers & a Snappi), and they were just okay. But I use them all the time as pads for the changing table, clean-up cloths, etc.

3.0 out of 5 stars almost perfect, March 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This diaper is the most absorbent and long lasting of all the diapers I've tried- both cloth and disposable- for this along it would get five stars.

However, these diapers did not come with ANY instructions- not how to use them, how to prep, how to wash...nothing!(minus one star, especially since they cost so much, throw in a little how-to booklet!)

After having read several reviews on these and other diapers, I deduced that I need to wash them many times -or boil- to get the oils out to make them absorbent. I decided to boil, and kept at a rolling boil for about 5 minutes then reduced to a simmer for about an hour. This seemed to do the trick.

And, as for laundering, they take FOREVER to dry. I am using cloth diapers to be more ecological and for a family that usually hang-dries clothes, running the dryer for over an hour each time is hard to take (minus star #2)

5.0 out of 5 stars The best prefold around, December 31, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love these prefolds. I have a very big boy - a 22 lb 6 month old and I use the medium (green) and the large (red) on him. I have tried at least 3 types of prefolds and these are the most absorbent that I have found. They work great with Snappis!! What I like is that they are large enough to make it around my baby's hips to catch the snappi easily. A lot of prefolds are just too small and I feel like I am cutting of his circulation to get the thing fastened. I also just fold these diapers in thirds and shove it into a Bummis super whisper wrap diaper cover for a quick change. They are priced a little higher than other prefolds BUT they are worth the extra money and they still are cheaper than a fitted or all-in-one (AIO). I loved my fitted diapers, but these prefolds made me consider switching entirely to prefolds because they are such a nice product.

2.0 out of 5 stars No trimmer than other prefolds, can't use snappies, April 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Thought I would spend a little extra and get some of these to add to my prefold collection, but disappointed I spent the extra money.

Cons:
These are not any better, if not, worse than cotton prefolds.
They seem to create more sweat against the bottom than cotton prefolds.
They are no trimmer than cotton ones, if not more bulky.
But the most annoying thing is they don't work well with a snappi, so frustrating to have the snappi keep slipping.

Pros:
They are soft, wash okay and absorb okay.
