Third, the rise snaps are in a spot that rub against baby's thighs.

I always love bamboo velour for the soft snuggly feel next to baby's bottom, and it doesn't pill like fleece or suedecloth.

So after giving them a fair try I decided they were not right for us.

My daughter is currently going through a squirmy stage, and we can't get her in a diaper laying down. So I've been especially loving diapers that are easy to get on (and can be gotten on while she is standing up). This one does that perfectly. So easy to get on a squirmy baby!

I loved that the Premium Pocket Diaper came with a hemp insert (those things are SO wonderfully absorbent!) and was really impressed by the folding technique that allows you to size this diaper perfectly for a newborn. My daughter is 11 months so I couldn't test it out myself, but the idea was brilliant. We had problems with other "one-size" diapers when my daughter was small, and this would have been a great solution--too bad I discovered them this late.

One feature that I haven't seen on other one-size diapers is the fleece leg gusset. Having soft fleece directly on baby's leg means 1. more comfort and 2. more breathability. The only problem being that this is the first bit to soak through when the diaper is full.

But my favorite part of this diaper is the fabric. BabyKicks usually use natural fibers, I've read, and the lining of these diapers is Bamboo Velour, which just looks like something you want to rub all over your face (which is what I did when it first came in the mail, haha, yup, totally serious).

Five out of five stars from me!

This diaper fastens exactly like a disposable, and I think that's why my husband always grabs it first. Front stuffing pockets are always a plus in my book to avoid the mess with pockets in the back. I always love bamboo velour for the soft snuggly feel next to baby's bottom, and it doesn't pill like fleece or suedecloth. I toss these in the dryer on low and it comes out feeling like new every time. Babykicks inserts are by far the best for absorbency and drying time. Plus, I love that if I don't want to stuff the pocket I can just lay the insert inside the pocket next to baby's skin and it functions like a cover. This diaper is tops in my ranking of 15 brands I've tried because of the trim cut betweeen the legs and trimness of the insert. I realize cloth diapers will always be bulkier than disposables, but this are the trimmest I've found to fit under clothes while still absorbing a lot of liquid.

I love these diapers so much! I've tried basically every easily available diaper on my little guy and these have fast become my favorites for a bunch of reasons:

Bamboo Inner: Bamboo velour is the softest fabric ever, in my opinion. It stays super soft and doesn't get pilly or stiff, even with line drying. I prefer natural fibers in my diapers and they are hard to find in a pocket diaper for under $25.

Pocket Opening: I really, really dislike rear opening pockets, which is why I use very few pockets overall. Who likes having to reach through poop to unstuff a diaper? Ick! Fron't loading pockets seem so much less messy and the flap on this keeps the insert in well. Some folks with big hands might find the pocket opening a bit narrow but it's worth it!

Joey Bunz Insert: Hemp is where it's at for absorbency and the One Size Joey Bunz insert is amazing for absorbency and trimness.

Velcro: This is really my favorite thing about this diaper. I primarily prefer snap diapers because I hate how worn velcro looks after a short time, and the damage it can do to my other diapers. This velcro is amazing because it sticks to itself like glue but doesn't stick to anything else at all! The laundry tabs stay stuck through the wash and all my other diapers stay safe from snags.

I wanted to like this diaper. I like velcro because my daughter is so unbelievably squirmy right now, the snap diapers are difficult. But I would rather wrestle her to get the snap diaper on than to use this diaper. If you need the velcro to overlap at all on the front (and most will. my daughter is 23lbs and it still needs to overlap to get a tight fit), you are totally out of luck. Any time she moves, the velcro moves and shifts and the diaper will come off. I try to keep the velcro "closed" so it won't catch on anything in the wash and it ALWAYS comes undone. Also, the insert doesn't fit right and it difficult to put in. I have tried different kinds of cloth diapers and this one is by far the worst. If you want a great velcro diaper, try the swaddlebees ecconappi. It is amazing. this Babykicks one is awful.

Really wanted to like it, but alas! I loved the idea of a natural+organic diaper, but I am disappointed. The velour fabric is really soft and PUL seems like good quality. This is where my compliments end...Cons: this diaper leaks; it's on the smaller size, I don't think it will last thru potty-training; hook and loop does not stay closed, laundry tabs do not hold in the wash/dry; inner part stained immediately (I don't particularly care about stains, but want to give full info); the insert is very rigid even after ten washes. Pretty disappointing for such an expensive product. I have cheap diapers that perform much better.

EDIT: I am adding two stars for great customer service. While I wouldn't recommend the Velcro version, the replacement snap version works great, so I recommend it, and Babykicks as a company for standing behind their product.
