Does the job well!,

While my 4 year old son thinks he's way too old for a "baby" seat, we often have problems keeping him sitting still at the dinner table if he's kneeling or reaching. This seat fits the bill perfectly - it's comfortable, a great height for an older toddler or preschooler that doesn't need to be belted in, it's easy to wipe or rinse clean, and it doesn't offend his sense of being a "big kid" for eating or other projects at the kitchen table. Plus he loved being able to choose from an assortment of colors.

My husband and I purchased a new dining set the day our Cooshee booster arrived. We were so excited because we didn't want our son's old, hard plastic booster seat to scratch our new chairs. The seat was working great, our son was able to climb up and down without it slipping, and it was much more comfortable for him. However, when I attempted to remove the booster to bring it out for dinner with us, the seat was STUCK to the chair. When I pulled it off, the finish from my brand new chair had stuck to the booster. I am devastated; it is the first new furniture set I have ever purchased in my life, and the chair is completely ruined. The white writing from the bottom of the Cooshee even stuck to the chair. I emailed (TWICE) BabysmartUSA and attached pictures for their review well over a month ago and received no response back. This $40 booster ended up costing us almost $300. Don't buy it unless you have old chairs that you're not particularly attached to!

We love this seat! I was nervous about putting my 2.5 year old in a seat that didn't attach to the chair (since our dining room chairs have no arms). But after a few weeks, it didn't slide around anymore. So, we've had no problems. No problems, that is, until the other night when we went to move it from the DR chair to the living room because he wanted to sit in it to watch TV. When I peeled it off the DR chair, it took some of the finish with it! Not good. Had it not been for that small(ish) problem, I would have given this seat a perfect rating!

I research every baby/child product I buy thoroughly before I purchase it. I bought this booster based on good reviews on several websites. It has been one of the worst purchases I ever made.
First of all, it is over priced. Second of all, if you have padded chairs, don't even think about buying it. It won't work. It slips and slides all over the chairs. Also our padding is curved toward the back and the seat just slides back down against the curve making it hard for my kids to sit in. Third, it only lasted about 3 months before the foam started ripping all over, and that was with very LIGHT use since my kids hated it. I contacted the company to ask for some sort of suggestion to fix it, or else a refund/return, but I never got ANY kind of response from them. Not even an email. It doesn't have any kind of buckle to keep them in, and now that the foam is ending up in shreds on my kitchen floor from the kids picking at the rips, this thing is going in the trash. DEFINITELY NOT worth the $$.

I've had this booster for about a year now and I have to say that I wish I had gotten something else. It was fine at first, comfortable (my toddler is a big kid so we needed something big enough for him) and it stayed put in the chair. After about a month or so, it discolored the wooden dining chair it was sitting on - beyond repair. I'm not sure if this is true only of the green seat. Also, after about six months a crack formed in the side (my toddler is heavy, again, so it could have been due to his size) and it eventually widened to the point that a huge chunk of the seat came off altogether. This is only after 7-8 months of use. I simply cannot recommend this product and truly wish I gone with another seat.

Stripped Finish - Problem Solved,
By
This review is from: BabySmart Cooshee Booster Seat Classic with Travel Bag, Raspberry (Baby Product)
Yes, its true, the seat does stick to the chair so well that when you go to move it, it takes a little of the chair finish off with it. I easily solved the problem with a piece of shelf liner cut to fit between the chair and the booster. The seat still stays in place very well with the shelf-liner (I used the mesh kind of shelf liner that is slightly tacky on both sides). It's not the most beautiful solution, but it works. And I still think of the booster options out there, this is still probably the best. We've been using the seat at least twice daily for about a year and have had no problems with construction (cracking, etc.) as other reviewers claim.

Tried a different soft booster, and love it.,
This review is from: BabySmart Cooshee Booster Seat Classic with Travel Bag, Blue Bird (Baby Product)
Tried the Cooshee on an old piece of furniture we were throwing out- just to see if it would take the finish off. IT DID.I thought maybe if I washed it first it wouldn't do it again. IT DID IT AGAIN, and WORSE! Not just tiny little amounts either. There were large spots of stain/finish gone. I'm so glad I didn't use this on my new dining room chairs!! I found a different brand soft booster at Target for the same price. It's on Amazon too:[...]
It has two large egg shaped cavities on the bottom of the chair so when you place it on a seat, you press down and it suctions onto the seat. I don't even push on it very hard and it stays in place. I use it on stained/finished NEW furniture without a problem- chairs, benches. And it comes off easily when you want to take it off, but it doesn't move while the child/toddler is sitting in it. I bought this for my 2.5 year old and she loves it. It seems like it only comes in two colors- lavender or blue. My toddler carts it around and uses it for reading on the floor and other activities. My 4.5 year old wants one too. It's really easy to clean- water and soap occasionally. Hasn't stained either. I've had it for a month now. I think Cooshee needs to have a large warning on the product box. If I hadn't read these reviews prior to using it- I'd have used it on my new chairs and ruined the finish. Not cool.

This is our second Cooshee Booster Seat. We loved the first one, but it eventually disintegrated, as our daughter likes to kneel in it and that eventually breaks down the foam on the back rest. Still, it is a very comfortable, useful booster seat, so much so that we bought a new one to replace the first.

Kids love it, stays in place but does strip finish and cracks/tears,

This chair has been in use every day in my household for four years. I use it on hardwood chairs with no upholstery and a painted finish. What we love about it is that it is comfy and it stays in place. On a hard surface this thing suctions down and does not budge. When I need to remove it for cleaning I literally have to brace my knee on the front of the chair and pull with both hands from the back, underside of the booster to remove it. I doubt that my mother-in-law with arthritis could remove it. This is wonderful for my tots to be able to climb into the seat by themselves, without the worry that as they put their weight on it and pull themselves up, it will come loose, leading to a fall. They climb in and out five times a day.
Here are the downsides of those features. It is comfy because it is foam. But because it is foam, it will crack and tear around the edges as it wears. My kids put pressure on the side "rails" when they reposition themselves, or if they climb in and out over the sides, or if they drape a knee over the side. Over time, this pressure, which pushes down or out on the foam sides, will lead to a crack. This happened within a year in our household. We have used shoe glue, the type that one uses to re-glue the sole of a shoe, to repair these cracks. In one place, a whole 6"x3" section of the side ripped out. We used the shoe glue to put it back into place and that has held for over a year. It is not pretty, but I am frugal, and since it mostly is tucked under the table and out of sight, I see not reason to purchase a new one just for aesthetics. But if this will be in a pretty dining room on display, you may end up having to replace it after just a year, to avoid the unsightly, visible cracks. What I want to warn you about the most, however, is the downside of the suction base. It will remove a painted finish. After we realized this, we decided to ensure that we always use the same chair for this booster, so only one of our chairs is damaged. It is in our kitchen with a table set that gets a lot of wear and tear with homework, art projects, etc, so we are not too concerned. But if you have an expensive dining set, beware. I do not know how a chair that is simply stained or varnished would fare, but the painted finish on my chair peels right off under the concave suction areas on the bottom of the booster. Also, tiny bits of crumbs slide under the very outer edges of the booster and, depending on how often you remove and clean under the booster, these crumbs will rub against the chair finish and scratch it like sandpaper. But even with those major issues, I would still buy this again. I find the fact that my chair has sustained repairable damage to be offset by the fact that this chair is so solidly in place and comfy.

after reading the reviews of this booster chair, i was expecting something solid and worth the cost. The booster seat is pretty, lightweight, but just a piece of rubber with nothing to recommend it over any other seat. I should have done as well buying it in Dollar Tree. IT lacks anything for food or drink placement.. and has nothing to hold it to the chair or whatever it is placed upon. Don't spend the money on it.
