I purchased the Vanilla Cooshee Changer shortly before my son was born and have been using it for almost three months now. My son is in the 70th percentile for length & the 93rd percentile for weight (His head circumference is in the 96th percentile!!!), and he still has plenty of room to grow while being completely contained within this changer. I don't foresee him getting too "wide" before he'll be potty-trained, and I doubt his trunk will get too long by then, either. (I foresee no problem with allowing his legs to extend over the foot end.
This product goes with us everywhere, and everyone who sees it falls in love with it. I'm exclusively breastfeeding, and between the often explosive nature of breast milk poo & the tendency of baby boys to spray, this changer has single-handedly saved the floors & furnishings of several friends & relatives...not to mention spared me A LOT of cleaning at our own house :-D I've also used it for countless sponge baths. Speaking of cleaning, I wipe it out with bleach every other week, followed by a quick scrub with soapy water & a thorough rinse with fresh water to be sure no bleach gets on baby's skin. We even got blue stamp ink on it by accident when we were taking his footprints, but the ink came off completely with a bit of elbow grease behind a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. So three months of breast milk poo and blue stamp ink smears later, my Vanilla Cooshee Changer looks exactly the same as it did the day it arrived.

My wife bought this product and here's what she says about it: I bought this product after reading reviews at various places, including the forums at babybargains.com. I was initially planning on buying a serta pad with different pad covers. But when I read about the coshee changer, I thought it was a better deal - I don't have to deal with changing and washing pad covers and replacing them every few months. I was super excited when I received my vanilla cooshee changer - it's soft, yet firm, it's deep enough that my baby won't roll off, has grips on the inside and outside, has a special cushiony part for the baby's head, comes with a safety belt, and is not at all cold. We give my baby his sponge baths and massages too in it! All you have to do is wipe it off with a wet cloth, preferably a baby wipe and that's it. Overall, I love this product. My parents love it too!

At first I really liked this baby changer but now that I've had it for 3 months, I'm not too happy with it. I bought the cream changer and it is now has spots of yellow on it. It looks horrible. I've tried contacting BabySmarts customer service but they are yet to respond. I'm curious to know whether the other colors you can purchase become discolored

We were looking for something to replace the changing station on our pack n'play because our daughter is almost at the max weight limit. This seemed like the perfect changing station to put on the floor and to 'catch' any accidents she may have while we change her. When it arrived it was stained, scuffed and had little holes in it. Also it isn't as long as a regular changing pad so my 29 inch tall baby girl was already way too long for this. It's also not as soft as I thought it would be but if using for a young tiny baby then it is pretty good. I'm not sure it's worth the money though, you're almost better off going with a regular changing pad and washing the covers...it's not as if you won't be doing a tone of laundry anyway.

Really like this... was worried about the color (bought the vanilla which look really yellow in picture) but it turned out to be a nice cream color and matched well in nursery. Much better then the pad I had originally was going to get.

Wanted It To Work!,
By Jen (East Coast, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: BabySmart Cooshee Changer Lime (Baby Product)
I really wanted this to work because the concept is great. I was looking forward to wiping off messes rather than having to wash a fabric cover multiple times. I thought the cooshee would save me time and it would if I actually felt comfortable using it.
There are two main problems with the cooshee. The first problem is the cooshee will stick to anything. While we were getting the nursery ready, I rested it on the wall and it pulled the paint off. Put my laptop on it and the sku numbers on the bottom of the laptop have been permanently sealed on the cooshee despite vigorously cleaning it (we couldn't use anything too abrasive because the cooshee is made of a plastic foam-like material). The second problem is the chemical odor that comes off of the cooshee. We've washed it and have had the cooshee for 7 months now but the chemical odor is still quite pungent. We were hoping the odor would dissipate after airing it out for a couple months and since we paid $65 for it we were determined to make the cooshee work. I put the cooshee on the floor so it wouldn't stick to anything. My husband put a towel over the cooshee to protect our son from the chemical odor. My son's head had the chemical smell just from being on the cooshee for a few minutes with a towel over it! Needless to say we were done with the cooshee. The cooshee turned out to be a waste of money, time and effort. If you have any concerns over chemicals in plastics these days this is not the product for you.

This review is from: BabySmart Cooshee Changer, Navy (Baby Product)
My third baby is 2 months old and I felt obligated to write a review because I love this thing so much. If you name a baby gadget, I have used it or tried it. With this 3rd baby I decided to go a different route-- I am tired of collecting all the baby stuff that you think will make your life easier, but in fact just makes your house more cluttered and your wallet thinner. And since I had used most of the stuff before I had a pretty good idea about where I wanted to put my money this time around. But this product was a new one for me. It does everything. When the baby came home and was asleep all the time, she slept in this on the floor while we watched tv. It is absolutely lightweight and very stable and easy to move. Changing a diaper in it is great because I don't ever have to wash a cover, and I am not worried about yuckiness getting into the thread channels of the more traditional changing pad. But when the time came to give her a bath, that's when I fell in love. It floats! So I just take it to the bathtub and start filling the tub. In goes the changer, in goes the baby. I float it under the spigot and it fills with some water and I let it float while I wash her. If I need to change the water for warmer, or cleaner water I just gently depress one corner and the water empties and then I float it back under the spigot. My 5 year old daughter loves to take a bath with the baby! When the bath is over, the changer air dries very rapidly. This changer really surprised me at how useful and multi-purpose it is. Really, a great product. --I purchased navy and have not seen any color change or smelled any odor.Update: Baby is over 15 months old and we are still using this changing pad, she still fits just fine!

Great product with a few major flaws -- but a good company behind it,

First the good:
1) I love how warm and soft and comfy this changer is. Our baby just seemed happy and comfortable on it, especially when he was tiny. 2) Most of all I love how it easily WIPES CLEAN. After changing the baby, I can just swipe it over with a baby wipe if things seem... er... not-so-fresh. That's really priceless. I don't think I could be happy with a fabric-covered changing pad after using this changer. 3) The high sides effectively contain toxic waste spills. Now the bad: 1) I bought the Vanilla, and it has seriously discolored. The middle is now an unattractive, dirty-looking yellow. I loved the soft cream when I bought it, but now I wish I'd gotten another color. 2) The pad has also fused with the painted top of the changing table! I seriously think we're gonna need a crowbar to get it off. On one hand, it sure doesn't move around... on the other hand, the top is going to need sanding and repainting. Now, this is a piece of furniture that we painted ourselves, not a factory finish. Perhaps it wouldn't stick to a factory finish. But it has really ruined the top of our changing table. 3) Our son is a smallish 9 months old (35th %ile) and is getting to be too tall. Other pads would probably last longer. The fact that this is so shaped adds comfort and utility, but limits its lifespan. I guess it actually speaks pretty well of the product that, even with these flaws, I'm still happy with my purchase. UPDATE: I contacted BabySmart about the discoloration, and they asked me to send them a picture. I'll send them the picture tomorrow and update with their response. They did seem genuinely concerned about the issue, which I appreciated. UPDATE II: They're sending me a differently colored pad, and told me that they're discontinuing the Vanilla color. Three cheers for customer service! I'll be buying the Cooshee booster when the time comes. UPDATE III, 5/11: They sent me the Cranberry, and I've been using it for a year now with zero problems or discoloration. It's even a little bigger than the Vanilla one was, so it's still usable even for my ever-growing toddler. When we removed the Vanilla one we had to basically chip it off -- it had bonded so strongly to the painted changing table top that it tore when we tried to take it off! So I put down some contact paper, since the top was pretty much destroyed any way. The contact paper eliminated the sticking problem. If I had it all to do over again, I'd probably put down non-adhesive shelf liner before initially using it.

This was one of my BEST baby purchases! This changing cushion is so much more superior than the traditional cloth covered cushion...and much more stylish! Any time my little one made a mess during a diaper change (in the diaper area, spitting up, etc.), all I had to do was take a wipe to it and the cushion was clean - no need to add to the ever expanding hamper! Also, I feel like the edges are rigid enough that I never really had to worry about my child rolling off, even when he started to get really fidgety. To address some of the issues noted by other reviewers: We bought the bright green color to match our son's nursery and have not had any discoloration problems (it's now 10 months old). The bottom did seem a bit sticky so I put some felt circles on the bottom of it before putting it on the dresser so that it wouldn't leave any marks. Also, my son is 32" long and we are still able to use this to change his diaper - the rigid edges keep him from getting out, despite his persistent attempts!
I can't speak highly enough about this product!

This item is awesome at first, as time goes by though it starts to get ugly. We bought the vanilla pad and have noticed now that it has nasty looking brown discolorations on it. My daughter is only 6 months old tomorrow. She also has outgrown it in length. I was so excited to have an option that was easily wipeable and didn't require laundering of covers. As it turns out though, the extra money spent up front was a waste. I now have to replace this pad, it is too gross looking to keep around.
