The testing is run not by us, but by an independent, third party laboratory who do nothing but product testing

Like it a lot, just don't look too closely at the ingredients

I think it's interesting, and a little disturbing I guess, to see a website like the Environmental Working Group (ewg.org) give out ratings to so many companies's products that are claiming non-toxic, gentle, green ingredients, when in fact they are apparently just subbing out traditionally used, toxic ingredients, for new, not as known, ones!

I'm no chemist, so I have to rely on such independent sites to get my information. And while the company's claims of "no parabens, sulfates, phthalates" is true, it's ALSO true that it has what some would consider to be a toxic chemical in it (albeit just a trace amount).

So for me, considering there ARE now (thankfully) a boatload of similar, health conscious products on the market (and readily available in any Target or grocery store), I will tend towards those instead of this brand.

I love the fact that this is fragrance-free, and it feels and smells EXACTLY like the product I have been using for years now, on all three of our kids, which is Johnson and Johnson's version of this (fragrance free, dye free foaming shampoo/soap). It's good stuff, and I haven't found anything better to date.

If I am going to the extra effort and expense of buying so called "green" products, then I want them as green, clean and non-toxic as possible. This particular soap unfortunately doesn't seem to qualify.

Hello, We appreciate your review and would like to provide some information about sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and safety of our products. Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is a mild yet very effective cleanser and foam booster. It is approved for Whole Foods Premium Body Care and included in the Handbook of Green Chemicals. It is GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA for rinse off products, and in leave on products at less than 5%. We have updated our foaming shampoo + bodywash formula which no longer includes this ingredient. Another update we've recently made to this formula is adding our 100% natural NeoNourish Seed Oil Blend for added skin health benefits. Good, With Some Caveats

Shampoo and Body Wash lathers well at first, but loses the lather rather quickly. Therefore, you use multiple pumps in a single bathing. As a body wash, the product is gentle on the skin and good for sensitive skin, but does not seem to moisturize well. The scent is a little unusual, the scent is very mild, but smells a little like a plastic bottle. As a shampoo, the product is gentle but the lather goes away before rinsing and you have to use a lot of the product to wash hair. There are other body washes and shampoos that have a cleaner smell and lather better. The product does not work well as a bubble bath. If the smell were improved and the lather would last longer, this would be a great product, especially for the environmentally conscious consumer.

Delightful bodywash/shampoo!

This bodywash/shampoo from Babyganics has made bath time even more enjoyable for us! First of all, it's so practical to have only one product to use for our toddler's hair and his skin. The orange blossom scent is pleasant, and as far as we can tell, it *is* tear-free--he tends to rub his eyes when we're soaping up, and we haven't seen him complain. The company may have changed their formula in the past 2 years (since the review saying it's not tear-free).

Best of all is that it's foaming--not only is it fun for baby but we don't feel like we're wasting soap anymore. Too often with other soaps we'd get a big glop on the washcloth and then have to either deal with crazy suds or rinse some out, but the pump on this product dispenses just the right amount every time. And of course the fact that it's paraben-free is wonderful.

**Amendment one month later: Unfortunately, we found that our toddler's sensitive skin was getting too dry, so we gave the remaining bottle to another family, who has enjoyed using it for their toddler's bathtime. If your child's skin is particularly sensitive, I'd say go for the unscented wash (although I haven't tried it yet).

Truly Fragrance Free.

If you or your baby are sensitive to fragrances, this is the soap for you. It may be the first truly fragrance-free soap I've ever used. There is a very slight soap smell, but you have to put the foam right up to your nose to smell it. People with noses less sensitive than mine probably won't be able to smell anything at all in this soap.

I don't have any babies, but I like things that are formulated for babies because they are gentle and don't have as many potentially toxic ingredients. I like this soap as a body wash, but have found it's not the best as a shampoo for adult hair. For babies I'm sure it's fine, but adult hair gets more oily, and this soap is so gentle that it's not formulated to remove a lot of oil.

This soap does not make your skin dry, but neither does it moisturize it. It does have an exclusive blend of seed oils including black cumin, sunflower, tomato, cranberry, and red raspberry. But if you have naturally dry skin as I do, you'll want to supplement with a rich lotion or cream when you get out of the shower.

Scent not too strong

What I appreciate most about this soap is that the smell is not overpowering. It's just not necessary when bathing children, but so many companies pile on the scent and it's just miserable to be around. My daughter used this herself on her hair and her body, and I like that it rinses clean and easily. Her hair always needs conditioner, no matter what we use, and this time was no exception. But not a big deal, I wasn't expecting a conditioner in this too. I also appreciate the size of the bottle relative to the pump - it doesn't fall over easily when a child pushes down on it because it has a wide bottom. Overall, a great product that I will definitely buy again.

Burns the eyes!!!!!

This is terrible!!!! Imagine the sadness I felt tonight when I used the same shampoo/soap on my face, that my 19 month old daughter has been using for months, only to make it burn my eyes. My poor little girl who has yet to speak, could not tell me she was in pain. This product is terrible and the makers should be ashamed of themselves. Oh, and the pump sticks.
