I am an African American woman with naturally kinky/coarse hair. I decided to stop using relaxers over a year ago, furthermore straightening my hair became a difficult task. I could never seem to get the results I was looking for out of a flat iron without going to a professional hair salon and spending $65.00 a visit.

I previously used FHI ceramic flat irons which straightened my hair and then left it frizzy again within the next hour. A hairstylist friend of mines suggested the Babyliss Pro Titanium irons. I purchased them from Amazon for $70 bucks and received them in about 5 days. "A miracle!!" I can't live without them now. My hair goes from frizzy/kinky to silky/straight/shiny in the blink of an eye. The best part is that it "STAYS" silky and straight until the next time I need to wash and straighten. No gimmic here. I highly recommend them over chi and fhi.

I got this for someone as a Christmas gift and it was not working correctly. Amazon told me it was too late to return it. I sent it to the manufacturer to be repaired or replaced and they notified me that it was counterfeit and wouldn't return it to me because it had to be investigated! Now I am out $80!

I suffer from curly, frizzy, wild hair.. I have tried every product imaginable and this is the best product out there.. It takes about a minute to heat and run it through each handful of hair once and your hair is perfect.. it will stay smooth and frizz free not to mention straight as a board until u wash your hair next(even if u wait 3 days).. Please buy this product if u don't believe me..

I read a lot of reviews of different brands all over the internet before buying this product. This was the only one I found that was (a) affordable (GHD got the best reviews, but they're $240); (b) had no bad commentary, (c) was sold by a trusted site (Amazon) and (d) was a brand I trust (Babyliss). I have a Babyliss hair dryer and curling iron (5/8") and they're both great.

The iron heats up fast. The only minor drawback I see is that (although it goes to 430 degrees) the heat settings are preset, so you choose from, I think, 300, 325, 350, 375, 410, and 430. If I use 375, I get "good" results but have to go over some sections twice. If I use 410, sometimes my hair starts to smoke (though I don't know if it's my hair, or the product, that is burning), but it only takes one pass to get it done. I'm sticking with 375 from now on!

Remember to use a thermal protection product before ironing. I don't like the kind that you spray on dry hair just before ironing (this gives me a crunchy, flat 'ribbon' of hair) and I don't feel comfortable with the serum kind you smear on wet hair (because I'm afraid I'm not getting it on all the places it needs to be) so I'm still investigating products you can spray on wet hair, let air dry, then iron.

I was looking for a higher quality/professional flat iron for my hair. I have really thick hair and I love the look when it is straightened, but it would always take me forever with my Conair flat iron. So, I found this flat iron at a reasonable price and it works great! There are five heat settings: 300, 340, 375, 410 and 450. I always use the highest setting because my hair is so thick and it works fast! It heats up in ten minutes and it only takes me about fifteen minutes to straighten my hair. It has cut my straightening time in half! I love it and the blue color is really pretty. The blades are definitely big enough for thick hair. This product is worth the price!

This is NOT an authentic BaByliss hair straightener. This company is selling garbage and trying to pass it off as the real thing. You can get authentic ones on Amazon. This is the second one I've bought from Amazon. My first one was authentic, I had no problems til it got dropped 5 years later and didn't work anymore. I am returning this one and have already received and authentic one from another seller. The best way you can tell if yours is real or not is by looking at the plug. Authentic ones with always have a serial number on one of the metal prongs. The real straightener will also have a flatter power cord with a line up the middle like it's two cords connected to each other. The fake ones have a big round cord. Just know that if you buy from here you need to pay attention to what you receive. The fake one I got also came in a package that was resealed with tape and the literature inside said it had a 3 year warranty when it actually has a 4 year warranty. Amazon was great about refunding my money back to me and helping me find a seller that guaranteed the product to be authentic.

Well, maybe not TOO old, technically speaking, but I've had this iron for three years now and I still love it. It was a Christmas present; after some research I selected this iron over others mainly because I wanted to try this "titanium" stuff and the price seemed fairly reasonable.

This thing works wonders. I have naturally straight hair any, but this iron eliminates all my random frizzies and occasional errant waves. It heats up fast, gets VERY hot (I use most of my heat styling tools on maximum setting, but not this one), and on the whole is quite effective. The buttons make for easy use, and it makes good contact with my hair (I can't stand those irons that cant "grip" hair and just lets it slide through).

The plates are really shiny, almost mirrored. I feel like it conducts heat much better than ceramic, and it's quite pretty! Also, this iron does not require frequent cleaning. My ceramic irons always used to get burnt, brown buildup on them that I would have to clean off. Not so with this one! I can remember having to clean this iron ONCE in my three years of ownership, and even then it was a very slight buildup that came off with a damp cloth.

What I really love about this product, though is that I can use it to curl my hair! I doesn't have a rounded shape, but it still works wonders (you can look up many videos on Youtube for technique on how to do this). My hair, like I said, is naturally straight; before I tried this iron it would not hold a curl at all (or, if it did, it required at least two hours of hard work with a curling iron and at least half a bottle of hair spray). Now, however, it takes me 20 minutes, tops. A few spritzes of light-hold hairspray, and I'm done; the curls can even last for a second day of wear.

Like all irons, I recommend a good heat protectant so your hair doesn't fry, but overall I LOVE LOVE LOVE this iron.
