Important thing Amazon.com did not tell in catalog, is that this is a set of first 6 episodes in the season 2: 2.0 Points of departure/Revelations; 2.1 The geometry of shadows/A distant star; 2.2 The long dark/A spider in the web.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best sci-fi television series, ever., June 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Babylon 5 - Season 2 - New Command (Points of Departure / Revelations / The Geometry of Shadows / A Distant Star / The Long Dark / A Spider in the Web) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
A science fiction soap opera set on a 5 mile long space station? You bet, and one of TV's finest examples of sheer (sometimes mindless) entertainment. This set contains the first 6 episodes from the second season. Of particular importance is episode 1, "Points of Departure," in which Bruce Boxleitner is introduced as the new captain of Babylon 5 after the mysterious reassignment of Commander Sinclair to Minbar. When I first started watching this series I found it to be, at various times, heavy-handed or schmaltzy, but always totally addictive. While this collection is a definite must for B5 fans, it is not the place to start. You've gotta start at the beginning, and simply resign yourself to getting all of them. Although I'm not a person prone to repeated viewings of anything, between the commercially available editions and the episodes I've taped off of television I've managed to collect the entire series, and I have watched it from beginning to end 5 times, so far! I enjoyed the last time through as much as I did the first, and then promptly return to Amazon.com and purchase the episode. Amazon.com is the only place I know of currently, that offers most (if not all) of the commercially available episodes. Sure, B5 is a guilty pleasure, but a pleasure it is and not one you should deny yourself. Enjoy!
