4.0 out of 5 stars Like an episode of B5 that you missed... very well done
After I got done reading the primary story (4 out of the first 5 chapters), I felt like I'd seen an episode that never got aired. I have to admit in a lot of ways that I (almost) liked Sinclair more than Sheridan... this collection and the novel "To Dream in the City of Sorrows" fill in more than a few gaps. The first chapter is the best, written by JMS and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting background, average art
This comic collection provides good "canon" background for Jeff Sinclair's story, and meshes well with Book 9, "To Dream in the City of Sorrows." This review is from: Babylon 5: The Price of Peace (DC Comics Graphic Novel) (Paperback)
This comic collection provides good "canon" background for Jeff Sinclair's story, and meshes well with Book 9, "To Dream in the City of Sorrows." I recommend it for any serious B5 fan. However, the artwork sometimes was lacking. (Garibaldi is the exception, as he was consistently well-drawn.) For some reason, Neroon was recognizable in only his first two frames -- after that he was completely different. At any rate, "The Price of Peace" storyline was interesting and engaging, and the characters were believable. The added bonus of the Psi Corps comic at the end is a hoot!

I have to admit in a lot of ways that I (almost) liked Sinclair more than Sheridan... this collection and the novel "To Dream in the City of Sorrows" fill in more than a few gaps. The first chapter is the best, written by JMS and beautifully-illustrated, but it's all good. The characterization is right-on, too, something I've heard hasn't been a strong point of the B5 novels, excepting "To Dream" and "Dark Genesis." The Psi Corps chapter complements the latter novel well, too. I look forward to more B5 comics (and novels, especially the Centauri Prime Trilogy!) -- the show's over, but the fat lady hasn't sung just yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you missed the comics, pick this up!, January 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Babylon 5: The Price of Peace (DC Comics Graphic Novel) (Paperback)
This is a bundle of the first four comics and the 11th comic. It takes place during the second season; and for those who may not know, these comics are much like the show. While each is an individual story, they all pull together to tell a 'big' story as well. If you like the show and you like the characters, you'll like this too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story for B5 fans, December 2, 1998

This review is from: Babylon 5: The Price of Peace (DC Comics Graphic Novel) (Paperback)
This is an incredible books. We finally get to see Sinclair's reaction to being ( officially ) told what really happened at the Battle of the Line and his reaction to seeing Delenn after her emergance from the Chrysalis. There is also a section about Psi Corp...but its mostly all propanda. The Price of Peace filled in some missing holes in Dark Genesis and To Dream in the City of Sorrows. The artwork is incredible, especially concerning Sinclair and Talia's expressions. I highly recommend this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Suffers from weak artwork., June 30, 2010

This review is from: Babylon 5: The Price of Peace (DC Comics Graphic Novel) (Paperback)
If you're a fan of the show this is nice to have as something you can hold in your hands but even the show's creator, J.M. Straczynski, is on record as admitting that he was not satisfied with the artwork. The worst thing about it is that the artist fails to consistently capture the looks of the actors in the show. Some of the characters look OK on some of the pages but not on others, and some of them just never look anything like they're supposed to. When you do an adaptation of a TV show or movie it's important to get an artist who is good at doing likenesses. However, as far as I know this is the only graphic novel adaptation of Babylon 5 in the US, so if that's what you're looking for, this is it. Supposedly the next story arc in the comic book had better artwork and was collected in book form, but not in the US.
