Editorial Reviews

Product Description
The MOUNTAIN GOATS are back to tour Australia again, this time with an exclusive tour EP. This band has proven to be extremely popular with crowds down under. This EP was recorded with TONY DOOGAN at the Castle of Doom in Glasgow in January 2006. 4 originals written by head Mountain Goat JOHN DARNIELLE plus a cover of "Sometimes I Still Feel the Bruise" by the TREMBLING BLUE STARS. The Mountain Goats have shot to prominence in Australia over the last few years with sell out tours and widespread press and radio play.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Solid Music Effort, May 28, 2008
So when The Mountain Goats went on tour through Australia during the "Get Lonely" tour, they released this 5 track e.p. and it is good.
There is a cover of "Sometimes I Still Feel The Bruise" by Trembling Blue Stars that is quite wonderful as well as the song "Alibi", which is lyrically awesome.
Overall, good tunes and none of these tracks are available on any other tMG release, so check it out.
I am not sure if it is quite worth the 18 bucks or whatever Amazon wants for it. You can buy it for much cheaper if you DL it from iTunes. I would say LD it from Amazon, but for some reason they do not seem to have it, at least not at this time.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites in a long discography , May 20, 2008
Every song on this is beautiful. The opener and his cover of "Sometimes i Still Feel The Bruise" are some of my absolute favorites in this artists long history. For me, this EP is The Mountain Goats at the top of their game.

5.0 out of 5 stars sparkling, intelligent, fun, April 14, 2006

this is only my second tMG CD and I am beginning to think John Darnielle is a real genius. Brilliant sound and amazing lyrics. His bassist Peter is extraordinary too. I saw them in Perth WA last night performing a couple of these songs. It was one of the best concerts I have ever heard.
Buy it even if you have to import it from Australia.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Darnielle's best
I have heard just about every song that John Darnielle has ever produced, and although I'd take John Darnielle's early work any day over his last few CDs, I still looked forward... Read more
