5.0 out of 5 stars My 6yr old son's favorite
My 6 yr old son is obsessed with babymouse and they are the only books he doesn't mind trying to read himself instead of being read to him. He draws and makes his own babymouse "books" with themes like "Babymouse the Pirate". My 9yr old son loves this series too. They both giggle over the books together. I thought that it was just okay. You should wear only what you want to wear not what someone tells you to wear. And don't make your little brother cry by stealing his chocolate candy from Halloween because that's being a bad person. I would've given it 5 stars if it was a nicer book. Typical.

This book has his favorite holiday. The subject matters are benign but clever and funny. When this book was on the bargain price rate I ordered several since my son's classmates liked the series after he brought them to school for show and tell. Most of them were boys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spooky Fun, February 7, 2010
This review is from: Babymouse #9: Monster Mash (Paperback)
Another excellent enry in the Babymouse series. This time, Babymouse reluctantly invites (more like, is bullied into inviting) mean girl Felicia Furrypaws to her party. Very quickly, Felicia starts making up all sorts of rules and soon Babymouse's beloved zombie costume is stuck in the closet while she tries to be a fairy. Felicia is the kind of girl who takes all the Halloween candy and likes to throw eggs and toilet paper people's houses. Babymouse winds up going along with it until she simply has enough and takes back the fun side of Halloween. Spooky witches, mummies and other creepy creatures abound.

My daughter (11 now) has been buying the Babymouse books since book #1 and probably will continue to buy them until there are no more. Not deep reading, but I have to admit, they are kind of funny. Clever, witty, and sometimes just silly. It's written in comic book style. Give them a try, Babymouse will totally grow on you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read!, June 28, 2009
This review is from: Babymouse #9: Monster Mash (Paperback)
Another stellar babymouse book. Read aloud with my five year old and she reads to herself as well. She adores babymouse and her antics. A great tool to teach the difference between right and wrong. Right to be yourself, wrong to steal baby brother's candy. Bad Felicia Furrypaws! Will you ever see the light??? Looking forward to Dragonslayer and Burns Rubber! The Holms have struck gold with this series!

The Babymouse series keeps getting better.... for kids AND parents alike. The beautiful drawing, the snazzy design and layout, the in-jokes and attention to detail.

This is a great one for fans of Halloween and monsters... hilarious and not TOO scary.
