I am in my way of buying this book for the second time. My first copy (8years old) got damaged in a flood. When my first child was a baby we bought it and we both enjoyed it. The rhymes and the colorful drawings in each page were highly atractive for my baby. As English as my second language it was very interesting for me too. We bought also the video and the cassette which makes the book more interesting for my growing child. The video starts with lively music and the same lyrics of some of the lullubies, and is slowing down from page to page, setting the tone to sleep. The voice of Judy Collins is wonderful. The combination (book and video) was powerful and my second child wants to have the book too. When I can't sing for them before sleep, they can hear the cassette and I can rest for the day.

This book is a keeper. I first purchased this book to ease my 3 year old's fear of go to sleep. I used to have such a difficult time putting him to sleep. But after reading this book to him a couple of times he actually looked forword to going to bed just so I could read this book to him. Although I must admit he enjoys looking at the pictures a little bit more than the reading part.

I love this book!! It was a very special book for both of my children. I love the Judy Collins tape that came with the book!! I still listen to it from time to time. My children also loved when I sang to them using the songs from the book. I'm sure every parent and child will hold this book near and dear to their hearts just as my family does - even though they've grown past the lullaby stage!!

This book has been with me for as long as I can remember. My mother used to make up songs to the poems or sing the lullabies, and those moments together were some of our best. For Mother's Day a few years back, I got her a copy so that we each would have one in our possession, and I bought one for my sister as well so that she might share the book with her children. I know it will remain in my possession and I value it as one of my favorite treasures. If I have children, I have every intention of making it an important book in each of their lives as well. I highly recommend it - the collection is excellent and the illustrations are delightful.

Filled with ever pleasing nursery classics whose rhymes all children immediately embrace, this bedtime book is adorned with warm and loving illustrations with each selection. This is my favorite book to give to new parents to begin their young one's library.

I love The Baby's Bedtime Book. I was given a copy when I was little, and I still have it on my bookshelf to this day. It combines a wonderful selection of songs and poems with beautiful and whimsical illustrations. It's a wonderful gift for new parents, and I've bought several copies lately for baby showers I've been invited to. My only complaint is that it's currently out of print, and it can be hard sometimes to find reasonably priced copies in good shape. Also, I prefer the original 1984 print to the more current 2004 reprint. I feel like the 1984 edition was printed on slightly better quality paper, and the illustration on the cover is more attractive. However, either version would still make a wonderful addition to any small child's library. I highly recommend this book!

My daughter recieved this over 20 years ago and still keeps it close. She is now giving copies of it to her friends who are having their own children.
