2.0 out of 5 stars Grandma's Easter Brag Book..... March 28, 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a book of pictures of the young toddler with an Easter basket, sometimes holding eggs and sometimes it is just the eggs in the basket. You never see an egg in it's hiding place.

For a book with the title "Baby's Easter Egg Hunt", I was expecting that the reader might have to look for the eggs in the picture. However, this book came across to me as a mother's indulgence in creating a special book for their child.

I found the photographs to be strange, as if too many buttons on their photograph program were used. These are not crisp clear photos.

As for the writing, the font size changed several times. On some pages the author created a grassy background and put a purple rectangle with black lettering inside, in other's she put the purple rectangle over the bottom of the picture. I found this inconsistency distracting.

I do not recommend this book.

More About the Author

Intermedia composer, percussionist, author, and obsessive sci-fi buff, Sabrina Pena Young composes mind-numbing electroacoustic works heard in Asia, North America, Australia, and Europe. Her music has been heard in film festivals, radio, electronic dance clubs, random boom boxes in France, and as not-so-pleasant background music. Her multimedia works have been performed at venues like the Beijing Conservatory, the International Computer Music Conference, Miramax's Project Greenlight, the Athena Festival, the New York International Independent Film Festival, Art Basil Miami, Turkey's Cinema for Peace, and Pulsefield International Exhibition of Sound Art.

Recent projects include World Order #5, an apocalyptic tale about the decimation of the human race by a viral mutation written for the Kansas State University percussion ensemble, 3D animation, and electronic music, and the Creation, a CGI multimedia oratorio composed for the Millikin University Women's Chorus and Millikin University Percussion Ensemble. Creation won the New Genre Prize from the 2011 IAWM Search for New Music. Upcoming performances of "Light" from Creation in 2012 include performances in Argentina and NYC.

In 2010 Sabrina Peña Young began work on Libertaria: The Virtual Opera, a sci-fi animated opera set in the year 2139 AD. Libertaria includes a live international cast and film crew, virtual choirs, sound synthesis, machinima, and contemporary choral writing. Libertaria will be released in 2013.

Origins, a riveting album of cinematic soundscapes, pulsating rhythms and enigmatic vocals, was released on CD Baby and i-Tunes in 2008. Origins includes World Order #1, a pounding dance piece about nuclear war and Looking Glass, a nightmarish musical poem.

In 2009 Young published The Feminine Musique: Multimedia and Women Today. The Feminine Musique traces the intersection of experimental music and new media through the works of innovative composers and artists who embraced social change, technology, and music.Young has written for the Kapralova Society Journal, Percussive Notes, Panpipes, the IAWM Music Journal, the SEAMUS Music Journal, and various fine arts websites.

Young taught at Florida International University and taught Sound Synthesis and composition at Murray State University where she curated the 2011 Athena 60x60 Mix with Vox Novus director Robert Voisey. Currently Young teaches university courses in Media and Music History while working on Libertaria: The Virtual Opera.
