This is a lot like junk food: not particularly edifying, but you still love it. This author is known for a series of spritely romances involving brooding hero, waif-like stranded mom and mom's baby. This one managed to make its quota of pages by drawing out the internal struggles in hero and heroine, almost to the point of confusion. But I give this 3 star romance an extra star for its being a fun read with snappy dialog and nifty characters.

What a delightful book capturing the charm of a small town and the growing affection between two strangers. I could smell the evergreens, Jambalaya, and feel snow on my face.
