I highly recommend this book to any new parent.

The short selection to read every day makes it easy to keep up with, and I enjoyed having a little space to jot notes about my baby's milestones.
Kacey
I used the book to write notes about the day but the book doesn't provide the space to journal daily (which I thought was the whole point!)

Love this book! I had the pregnancy journal during my pregnancy and love it which made me decide to give this book a try. You feel in the dates and it keeps track of how many days and weeks old your baby is. It describes physical, cognitive and social-emotional development day by day. It is spot on with accuracy. There is room all through out to make notes and keep track of doctors appointments and other accomplishments. It has the sweetest quotes on every page too. It also list important facts about your baby like temperature of bath water and other medical facts. It has a "did you know" and "check this out" that are helpful too. Would suggest this as a must have for the informative parent who wants to keep track of baby's development. As an RN I highly approve of this book and highly recommend the author who has a PH.D. Be careful of authors and the accuracy of facts.

I dislike this book intensely. I was hoping that it was much more than it was. I was hoping that the daily information would give me insight on what to expect when it came to my baby's development. It did do that somewhat however the daily information repeats over and over. Some days have some of the exact same information from the day before while sometimes you will find the same information from a month ago. Other times it is telling you what to expect further down the road rather than that day/week/month. I found that developmentally the information was off, especially compared to better books and websites. I used the book to write notes about the day but the book doesn't provide the space to journal daily (which I thought was the whole point!) and there isn't a lot room to write, especially the pages that had three days crammed on them. I also can't stand the fact that it only refers to a baby girl as if everyone in the world only has female babies. It would have been nice if the book was more gender neutral or at least referred to boys some of the time. I would NOT recommend this book.

I was in love with my what to expecct pregnancy organizer and tried to find a baby journal that followed a similar format. Couldn't find one, but kept coming back to this one so I finally bought it. At first I didn't like the lack of writing space but I finally decided to just MAKE writing space. All the empty space around the daily "tidbits" became my journaling space and almost every day I had something to say. So I make notes, outline things that are interesting or pertinent, and then in the sections dedicated to notes I write more in detail about what baby is doing developmentally, etc.

My biggest gripe (aside from the lack of journaling space mentioned before) is that the author constantly refers to baby as "she." I'm the proud mama of a little boy and this irks me to no end. No where does this book suggest it is for GIRL babies, but babies in general. So I would think it appropriate to alternate he for one day, she for the next or by weeks or something. I've been keeping it for over 6 months so I'm not about to get rid of it, but I still cringe almost daily when I read "she" or "her." I have two girls... but this one is definitely a HE. Once in a great while I'll notice the pronouns change and are gender neutral or I think a few say "he" but it's got to be 80-90% female reference.

It would also be nice to have spaces to paste a photo now and then. There are many things this book has potential for that it doesn't quite reach. It has great information in it and if you keep it daily would make a wonderful keepsake for later on. Much different than a "baby book" so I do recommend it but hope the author chooses to make some adjustments in later editions.

I received this journal as a gift when my first child was born. I liked it so much that when I found out I was pregnant with my second child I bought another one as well as one for a friend who was also pregnant! The short selection to read every day makes it easy to keep up with, and I enjoyed having a little space to jot notes about my baby's milestones. I highly recommend this book!
