This is without a doubt our favorite kid's music! It's the only
cassette my 3-year old will listen to in the car, and even my 16-month
old sings along! This cassette features various artists singing
traditional children's songs, backed by guitars, fiddles, banjo, and
even mandolins for a real knee slappin' good time! We recognized most
of the songs right off, but were especially delighted to hear the
songs sang with their complete verses....The vocalists are fabulous,
the music is fun and folksy but sophisticated enough for me. It's as
if someone purposely set out to create children's music that parents
wouldn't tire of. It's truly a treasure!

As a parent you will love this as much as your children. The music doesn't "play down" to kids' ears. Rather it is a strong collection of classic songs with new compositions that will have you playing it over and over again. The whole family will be singing along and strumming the fiddle and banjo. And for even more enjoyment, there is a Playtime Songs video that covers the same material with outstanding animation. This is our number one gift of choice to parents of toddlers.

This CD was perfect for singing and dancing with my son. We've been enjoying it literally since day 1! He's now 7 months old and we still love it. I'm sure we'll still enjoy it for years to come. Most of the classics I remember from when I was a kid are on this CD. The music is upbeat and simple. The perfect first CD for any little one!

My son loves this music. They do have an accent but I found you get used to it after a listen or two. It has some variation to the classic songs but in my opinion that's what keeps it interesting.

I have had this CD since my first Grandson was born in 2001. I now have four Grandsons and none of us are bored with it yet! This includes my youngest (9 weeks). We listened and sang with it for the first time on Friday and I got two "gummy" grins from him. I like the songs selected as they are not the "same old-same old" as you see on children's CD after CD. I also like the fact that, since I believe the singers are Australian, the words to songs we do know are not always the same as in the USA. In addition, I think it is extremely important to expose children at an age as young as possible to different accents and languages. I'm back at Amazon to order another of the same for my Daughter-in-Law to have at home.

The vocals were grating and irritating, the accompanying music/instruments were terrible, my babies hated it.

We enjoy the songs on this CD. I was a little thrown when I played the first song, I'm a Little Teapot and it was sung by singers with a heavy British accent.
