Even though I've worked in child care for many years, this book gave me some new ideas of activities to do with my first and second child. I never did the "Golden Hour of Play," but I did a lot of the activities. Plus I like how the book lays out the developmental stages in age ranges instead of "your child should be able to do this by this age," like some other books. I recommend this book for all parents.

This is great book. I love how the activities are broken into categories for each month. So if you have concerns about your child's development in one area its easy to find activities to do to work on that area. This book is easy to read and apply to your child. I found the development stages to be more appropriate for my son vs the book What to Expect the First Year.

My wife and I just love this book. It gives us great activities to do with our 7 week old daughter to ensure a well-rounded development, and it's a great way to bond.
It has many fun and interesting facts about baby's growth and brain developments, and a lot of the exercises are short and easily tackled to fit in with a busy schedule. I highly recommend this book, especially for first time parents. It's fun and very educational.

I am a parenting coach and use the book's "golden hour" format to encourage parents and infants to spend their time interacting with developmental intentionality.
