Fun to listen to-,

This is a wonderful way to expose your children to Spanish. Although it is designed for babies, I listen to it with my kids who are older (6 and 2). The songs are actual spanish songs, not songs that have been translated into spanish. They are short (great for the little ones) and the words can be clearly heard (not true for many language tapes). There are songs and rhymes on this, and the whole CD is pleasant to listen to, and will give your child a great introduction to Spanish. There is no english on the CD, so it will not teach your child spanish, but the words are all translated in the liner notes, so with an effort you can teach your children the translations if you wish. There is a short book with the CD, and it is very helpful. It discusses how children learn languages, and the benfits of becoming multilingual. They also explain the different stages your baby goes through when learning languages, and how the various songs and rhymes on the CD fit into this learning.

Authentic Spanish songs that babies and parents can enjoy!,

I bought the CD because I don't have any Spanish heritage and want to assist with my eleven month old child's Spanish as much as I can - especially before her first birthday. To me, a CD like this is as good as the songs, and the songs are quite enjoyable and memorable. After only a month, my eleven month old "dances" to almost all of the songs on the CD. In fact, this CD is even helping me improve my Spanish a bit since the liner notes include all the lyrics. I now find myself humming many of the tunes to myself - IN SPANISH - and I can already sing many of the songs to my child. The origin of all of the songs are listed with the lyrics, and my wife fondly recognized many of the ones from Central America (where she is from).Another nice feature is that the CD is separated into four sections, one for each 6-month age group between 0 and 2. As explained in the included brouchure, this is to coincide with the child's language development. For example, for the 6-12 month section there are a lot of "special" Spanish sounds that non-native Speakers don't really pronounce (or even hear) correctly (e.g. "Quien ira a buscarlas" has a soft "a" after "ira"). To me, the one downside of the CD is that about half of the 60 minute CD are poems and rhymes. My child seems to like the rhymes well enough and they have helped with my personal "Spanish lessons", but I would have preferred another 30 minutes of songs. In fact, I've burned a CD exclusively of the songs since they seem to have more of an impact on my child. All in all, though, buy this CD and you (and your baby) will be singing its praises!

This CD is awesome. I have looked for materials to teach my 3- month old languages and in particular Spanish. This is the best CD available. I just wish they had it available in more languages than Spanish, French and Italian because I would buy them all. This is great if you are trying to expose your baby to Spanish during the critical language learning period and beyond. The voices on the CD are wonderful. The songs are catchy. The background music is fun and soothing at the same time. A+

Talk about a lifesaver! With great renditions of classic songs, humorous anecdotes and tongue twisting rhymes, this cd has been a wonderful way to introduce our baby to the beauty of the spanish language while helping us to brush up on the language ourselves. We have been playing this cd for my son since he was born and now at 9 months old it helps to teach, entertain and even sooth him. We've bought several copies for other babies and their families. I highly recommend it!

Beautiful CD. I love that it has traditional Spanish songs and rhymes, as opposed to English ones translated into French. The info in the booklet is helpful, but I would recommend a book by Opal Dunn "Help your Child with a Foreign Language" as a much better option. Also, if you liked this CD, I believe you would also like a collection of DVDs and CDs by A LA VIBORA DE LA MAR. Check them out (they are available through Amazon at half the price I paid for them in México!!).

A 14 month old FAN!,

My husband and I do not speak Spanish, but want our 14 month old son to be exposed to it at an early age so we bought an arsenal of baby spanish learning materials and this is by far the best. Our son loves it so much. He dances around to the music, focuses on the rhyme and smiles when the children speak. It's a great combination of spoken words, conversations, rhyme and song.
Here's why I love this cd: 1. It's entirely in SPANISH, there is no english translation which is great considering this cd is for babies to hear spanish and not for the parents to understand it. 2. He's exposed to more combination of sounds than just single word labeling (which a lot of other spanish for babies materials use). 3. Our son is exposed speakers of all ages on this CD, adults and kids speaking. 4. Everyone one is a native spanish speakers so noone speaks w/an "AMERICAN ACCENT". 5. The adults speak in motherese or parentese (in a soft rhythmic tone) which babies absolutely love. It comes with a great informative booklet for parents to understand what is going on with your child's brain development especially regarding language during the first 6 months. I've read a lot about teach your infant a second language and it is put together well, citing case studies and liguinstic experts. BUY THIS CD AND PLAY IT TO YOUR NEWBORN EACH DAY! It's a great investment for your child's future especially in California, where in the next 30 years or so Latinos will comprise nearly half the population of the state (according to several census studies).

This is a great CD for introducing your baby to Spanish. As American parents we only speak English but want our 10 year old to learn Spanish. This CD really has a well round selection of songs, rymes and other methods of exposing the baby to the sounds of the language. We have several other CD's in Spanish, but this one it by far the best! We love to play it and dance around the living room with our little one who loves the music...she smiles and giggles as she listens to the speakers and singers on the CD.

My child has been listening to this CD since she was 5 mos.and loves it. She claps her hands every time I turn it on. It is compiled nicely so even I can listen to it repeatedly and not get sick of it. Well worth the money for baby & parents.

Exactly as described. My kids love it and they are 4 months old. The rhymes are catchy and even though I don't know all the words, you learn them quick and can sing along. Great product.
