5.0 out of 5 stars Babysitting Sugarpaw highly recommended book!, March 22, 2011
This review is from: Babysitting SugarPaw (Paperback)
I highly recommend the Babysitting Sugarpaw book by VS Grenier.
Parents will love reading this to their child over and over again.
The illustrations by Keven Collier are vibrant, full of expression and so adorable.
Your child will definetly want to turn the page and see what Sugarpaw will do with the rule chart. Sugarpaw does not want a babysitter. He is determined to change the rules in his favor.....ha ha...your child will love this part.
Bonnie Whiskers is a lovable character and anyone who has babysat knows excatly what she's feeling. When she hears Sugarpaw cry out "Don't go" she worries and wonders if she will be able to babysit Sugarpaw.
You must add this to your childs reading list!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well done!, February 14, 2011
This review is from: Babysitting SugarPaw (Paperback)
What I like best about Babysitting Sugarpaw are the rules! We know right up front what Sugarpaw's home is like because of them--it's filled with love by two caring parents. We know what the expectations are and VS Grenier writes from those parental expectations. This isn't some cutsie, sugary story that rhymes poorly (it doesn't rhyme at all) and heavy-handedly 'teaches' children that babysitters are good and obeying rules is the right thing to do. All that comes organically from a good telling of the story which is heavy on the dialogue and well done at that. It's definitely worth purchasing whether your little one will be babysat for the first or fourth time. It's a great book for babysitters to read to their charges as well. - Biblio Reads Children's Book Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved the illustrations~!!, December 5, 2011
This review is from: Babysitting SugarPaw (Paperback)
Babysitting Sugarpaw by VS Grenier is an Action Adventure Children's Reader book.

Sugarpaws parents are going away and a babysitter is coming to look after him. He is not impressed and begins a plan to make things work for him.

After Bonnie Whiskers arrives to watch Sugarpaw, Mama Bear takes her to the kitchen to show her the rules that Sugarpaw has to follow. Sugarpaw has other plans and changes the rules so that he is able to do more things.

Bonnie tries her best to look after the unruly Sugarpaw; she tries to get him to play games, read a story and take a bath and Sugarpaw makes trouble for her whenever he is able. After Sugarpaw comes to realize his actions, he must tell everyone the truth about the reasons for his misbehaviour.

Again, another delightful story with a great message and wonderful depictions of the characters. The illustrations by Kevin Collier are charming and colourful and will delight your young person as they explore the pages.

I thought Sugarpaw to be a very mischievious little bear and was happy to see that he realizes his actions may hinder those around him. I loved the outcome of the story and how Sugarpaw confesses to the wrongs that happened while his parents were away. I also liked how the issues were resolved.
