1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother! March 17, 2011
I eagerly borrowed this from the library for my spouse since we're having our first baby together. I thought this would be a good choice given that it was aimed at men. Boy was I wrong!

It's awful. The very LITTLE useful information in this video was nearly lost in the midst of all the over the top, really negative portrayal of pregnancy, pregnant women AND men in their so called 'humorous' skits. This video portrays pregnant women as nagging, demanding, ridiculous, obnoxious and self-centered. It also portrays men as brainless neanderthals. The 'dad to be' in the skits is abused by his horrible pregnant wife, and the 'dads to be' in the "Coach's" class seem like a bunch of high school jocks that are only interested in bashing their wives/girlfriends or making stupid comments about enlarged breasts.

Give your man more credit than this and don't make him sit through this. There are other, MUCH better resources out there. This is a pathetic attempt to 'educate' men with very little actual useful info. It's very basic and still leaves many questions unanswered. My spouse did not enjoy it or take anything from it.

I'm a father of three. All three of my kids were homebirths. I delivered my last child unassisted. This video is geared towards men with a teenage maturity level and an eight year old's IQ. It focuses on extreme stereotypes and poorly done slapstick humor. The whole movie can be summed up in the following four points.

1. Your wife will be a crazy, selfish, emotional wreck who will treat you like dirt. Don't take it personally. It's normal.
2. Always tell her she looks pretty.
3. Shut up and do whatever the doctor and hospital tell you.
4. If you don't ask questions in lamaze class "you're a dick." (That is a quote from the movie.)

The movie's only value is in whatever heat it might generate should it be incinerated.

I laughed in the beginning because I couldn't believe it. Got tired of it really quickly and turned it off.

3.0 out of 5 stars Last half was the best February 8, 2014
Format:Amazon Instant Video
The first half had good, specific info, but was cheesy. Maybe men like that... it was, after all, titled "For Men." The second half I really enjoyed because of the experienced advice given; that was well done and I wish that part had been longer.
