5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable and completely practical for newborns
As a first time Mom to a 9 week old boy, sleep has been hard to come by. One thing I would recommend to other FTM's is to invest in a good quality swaddle such as the Merino Kids Cocooi. The feeling of being tightly wrapped mimics that of the womb and soothes and settles baby into sleep. He won't overheat as long as you use a swaddle made of natural fabric instead of...

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't stay on
I used this on my 2 month old and he wiggles out of it so easily. It doesn't have any way to fasten shut except to wrap it around a few times. The fabric is too thin and slips right off. The fabric feels light but has a mildly irritating texture. It's one of the most expensive swaddle wraps I have ever purchased. We like the cotton SwaddleMe blankets by Kiddopotamus. They...

He won't overheat as long as you use a swaddle made of natural fabric instead of polyester, poly blends or other manmade materials. The structure of natural fabrics such as wool and cotton means that excess moisture is moved away from the body, thus resulting in regulated temperature. I can't wait until my son can sleep through the night, but until then I make sure to have my trusty swaddle by my side at all times!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very useful, and especially in combination with other swaddles, January 24, 2010

This review is from: Cocooi Babywrap Newborn Baby Swaddle and Cap, 100% Merino, Natural Color (Baby Product)
We use the Swaddle for our little newborn daughter (7 days old). It's very thin and elastic, but still very warm. Great material and very good quality.
We made the experience that it's not so useful (yet?) if it's the only "swaddle-layer" as there is maybe too much space for a newborn (too much freedom?).

We now use it as a kind of "outer swaddle shell" and have a 'regular & simple' swaddle blanket/receiving blanket underneath (we always use two to three layers). This works extremely well!!!!

So overall we are very happy with this! It's really made from a great and high quality material, very light, very elastic, very easy to use and very warm. Once the baby is swaddled there is no "loosening", it just stays together.

We think about buying a 2nd and a 3rd set.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cocooi is perfect for first time Moms, June 11, 2009
This review is from: Cocooi Babywrap Newborn Baby Swaddle and Cap, 100% Merino, Natural Color (Baby Product)
I'm a first time Mom and was excited to receive the Natural colored Cocooi at my baby shower. Amongst other baby "stuff", the whole swaddling concept was new to me, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. A lot of Moms find their babies sleep well in the first week after coming home from the hospital, but can be cranky and finicky after that, so we were keen to get out little one in the swaddle as soon as we could.
We tried the Cocooi as soon as we came home, and I'm pleased to say that it truly was a life saving product for us! Compared to other new parents, I would estimate we're gaining an extra 1-3 hours of sleep per night as a result of the little guy being swaddled.
Highly recommended!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Very thin, November 4, 2011

I have not used this yet since I'm in waiting but it is very thin. I removed this from the packaging and held it up to the light. I could see the light through the fabric. I'm sure this will work in combination with other swaddles, but since I have not had the opportunity to try it out i'm skeptical of using it alone. I know if this was my only blanket I would freeze. I purchased two of these...hopefully they're fabulous. I'll have to post an update after we have our baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best baby wrap ever!, July 5, 2011
This Product is amazing! I started using it when my daughter was about 4 weeks. She just wouldn't stay in the swaddle, I would do with regular blankets and would break her arms free then wave them around like a windmill which would wake him up. She was waking 2 or 3 times a night and she also had a very strong startle reflex that would sometimes wake her after she was asleep for only 10 mins or so.

My friend told me about Cocooi Babywrap and was so desperate for some sleep for my baby and myself that I tried it and it is just great. She slept through the night almost right away and she is 13 weeks and I still use it. I love this because it comes with a cap, also reduce risk of overheating and body temperature-regulating. A must have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Swaddling Has Never Been Easier, July 5, 2011
I love this babywrap. It's so cozy, my baby keeps falling asleep without an issue. It's machine washable, stays soft and well-made, and it is really, really durable. Before I got this baby wrap, swaddling was really difficult, and he kept getting cold at random times. This wrap regulates his body temperature so well! It's a must buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Cool Product - Real Useful, Real Soft, Good Quality, June 3, 2010
We bought this from another website but after stumbling upon this on Amazon I thought I'd drop in a couple reviews.

We used this a lot in the first 3 months

Helped our newborn baby to sleep better

Merino has awesome qualities and since then we buy tons of merino stuff

It is a top of the line product but for a good reason - merino is the bomb

The design is good and you can use it with a newborn car seat A++ Product

5.0 out of 5 stars Best swaddle I've used, February 2, 2010
I've tried a couple of different swaddles and the Cocooi beats them, hands down. The fabric is soft, breathable and kept my daughter warm and snuggly, allowing us all to sleep a couple of extra hours at night. I was skeptical at first, but it really is true, swaddling a newborn is one of the easiest and most effective ways to soothe a newborn.

The thing I liked about the Cocooi was that it didn't completely restrict my daughter's arms (unlike some straitjacket styles), and she could still wriggle around a little bit if she needed to.

I'll definitely be using our Cocooi swaddle once my next baby comes along!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, April 14, 2010

The cap has a rubbery label inside that you cannot take off. and fit is way too large for a newborn, resulting in we never used it. The wrap is overdesigned, not rectangular, making it stringy after a while when used on baby. The merino is a bit less soft than others.
